Camp Red Cloud was a United States Army camp located in the city of Uijeongbu, between Seoul and the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). CRC was transferred to the South Korean government in February 2022. The installation was renamed after Medal of Honor recipient Corporal Mitchell Red Cloud Jr. on Armed Forces Day, May 18, 1957 from its earlier name of Camp Jackson.

It also held Korean National Sports Festival twice, in 1985 and 1996. The stadium had a capacity of 35,000 people. In December 2008, because of the deterioration of its equipment, the stadium was demolished, and a new stadium, Chuncheon Stadium, was built in another place.

Gyeonggibuk Science High School is a science high school in Uijeongbu, Republic of Korea, established in 2005. It was called Uijeongbu Science High School(UIS) before January 7, 2008. Some Korean students called GBS "Uigwak" which is from the pronunciation of UIS. There are about 230 students with most going on to university in the second year. GBS covers an area of 25,000 m2 with 18 classrooms and 16 laboratories. All students live in the dormitory, two students to a room.
Camp Jackson was a United States Army camp south of Camp Red Cloud and 20 miles south of the city of Uijeongbu at the throat of the Uijeongbu Corridor, on the National Highway 3 now in the far northern Dobong-gu suburb of Seoul. It was one of the smallest US military installations in South Korea. The camp was named after Private First Class George W. Jackson who was awarded the Silver Star during the Korean War.
The Battle of Uijeongbu, also known as the Battle of Uijongbu, was fought between 1 and 4 January 1951, at Uijeongbu, South Korea, as part of the United Nations Command (UN) retreat after the third Chinese People's Volunteer Army (PVA) offensive after entering the Korean War.
