The Turkish Naval Forces, or Turkish Navy is the naval warfare service branch of the Turkish Armed Forces.
The Turkish Air Force is the aerial warfare service branch of the Turkish Armed Forces. It traces its origins to June 1911 when it was founded as the Ottoman Aviation Squadrons by the Ottoman Empire. It was composed of the Army Aviation Squadrons founded in 1911, and the Naval Aviation Squadrons founded in 1914 which used seaplanes. The Air Force as a branch of the Turkish Armed Forces was founded by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on 23 April 1920. It is considered to be the third largest air force in NATO.
The Gendarmerie General Command is the national Gendarmerie force of the Republic of Turkey. It is a service branch of the Turkish Ministry of Interior responsible for the maintenance of the public order in areas that fall outside the jurisdiction of police forces, as well as assuring internal security along with carrying out other specific duties assigned to it by certain laws and regulations. In wartime, some of its elements can be subordinated to Turkish Land Forces by the President of Turkey.
The Coast Guard Command is the coast guard service of Turkey. The Turkish Coast Guard is under the command of the Ministry of the Interior. However, during wartime some of its elements can be subordinated to Turkish Naval Forces by the President.
The Special Forces Command is a division of the Turkish Armed Forces, initially established as a brigade in 14 April 1992, operating directly under the Turkish General Staff. According to the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) dress code, the OKK, also known as the Bordo Bereliler, are noteworthy for their distinctive maroon berets. Their task is to carry out special operations that exceed the capabilities of other military units.
The Underwater Defence, or SAS, is the one and only EOD unit of the Turkish Navy, based in the Foça Naval Base near İzmir, on the Aegean coast of Turkey
Gölcük Naval Base is the main base of the Turkish Navy on the east coast of the Sea of Marmara in Gölcük, Kocaeli. It is the principal base for logistic support with various facilities stretched over 1,800 acres (7.3 km2) of land.
Aksaz Naval Base is a base of the Turkish Navy on the south-east coast of the Aegean Sea in Marmaris, Muğla. In addition to the military buildings, the base houses apartment-like barracks and social facilities stretched over 8,000 acres (32 km2) of land. Six helicopters are also stationed at Aksaz.
Gölcük Naval Shipyard is a naval shipyard of the Turkish Navy within the Gölcük Naval Base on the east coast of the Sea of Marmara in Gölcük, Kocaeli. Established in 1926, the shipyard serves for the building and the maintenance of military vessels. A total of 3,221 personnel are employed at the shipyard stretching over an area of 255,526 m2 (2,750,460 sq ft) with covered structures of 121,466 m2 (1,307,450 sq ft).
Erdek Naval Base is a base of the Turkish Navy on the south coast of the Sea of Marmara 1.2 km (0.75 mi) south-east of Erdek in Balıkesir Province. It is the principal base for mine warfare vessels.
TCG Sultanhisar (P-111), ex-USS PC-1638, was a Hisar-class patrol boat of the Turkish Navy. She was built in 1963 by Gunderson Brothers Engineering Corp. in Portland, Oregon as a submarine chaser.
TCG Büyükada (F-512) is the second ship of the Ada-class ASW corvettes of the Turkish Navy. TCG Büyükada was named after Büyükada Island. Büyükada Island is part of the Prince Islands archipelago in the Sea of Marmara, to the southeast of Istanbul. Its sister ship is TCG Heybeliada.
The TCG Alemdar (A-582) is an Alemdar-class submarine rescue mother ship (MOSHIP) of the Turkish Navy. Ordered on October 28, 2011 and built by Istanbul Shipyard, she was launched on April 29, 2014.

It has several missions which all kinds of natural and man-made disasters that may occur inside of domestic and abroad places with in mountains, caves, canyons, underwater to conduct search and rescue operations with, was established on 1 September 1999 in Ankara under the command of the Gendarmerie Commando Special Public Order.
Adnan Özbal is a four-star Turkish Navy admiral currently serving as the 26th Commander of Turkish Naval Forces.
The TRNC Coast Guard Command is responsible for defending the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus against any attack from the sea. This force was established in 1976. It is affiliated with the Security Forces Command. It is an armed law enforcement agency serving in the coastal areas of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. It is the only element of the Security Forces Command at sea.
Necdet Uran was an admiral in the Turkish Naval Forces who served as the 5th commander-in-chief of the Navy from 20 June 1961 to 16 August 1968. He commanded the Turkish Naval Academy from 1952 and 1954, TCG Gaziantep, a Tinaztepe-class destroyer, and commander of Naval Fleet.
Ilhami Erdil is a Turkish retired admiral who served as the 18th commander of the Turkish Naval Forces from 26 August 1999 to 24 August 2001. He also served as the NATO planning officer and Planning Organization Department between 1975 and 1977 and naval attaché in Washington, D.C. between 1979 and 1981.
