Unidad Valle De Las Palmas
Unidad Valle de las Palmas is a formal extension of the Autonomous University of Baja California, belonging to the Campus Vicerectorship of Tijuana, located on the Tijuana-Tecate highway, near the height of the Carrizo Dam. In 2009, the academic unit will have new educational offerings in Health Sciences (Nursing, Medicine and Dentistry), Design (Architecture, Graphic Design and Industrial Design), and Engineering Sciences (Aerospace Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, Microelectronics, Computer Engineering, and Renewable Energy).
The first phase of the Valle de las Palmas campus facility of the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) will be ready for the first group in August 2009, according to the rector Gabriel Estrella Valenzuela. During the startup of the work—which includes the construction of the first four buildings of classrooms and laboratories, as well as the community center and two parking areas, among other venues—it was announced that would respond to an enrollment of 4 thousand students in two shifts. This used 30 of the 50 hectares of land that was donated by the State Government, with an initial investment of 160 million pesos. The start of work was led by Rector Estrella and Governor Jose Guadalupe Osuna Millan, who was accompanied by the mayors of Tijuana and Tecate (Jorge Ramos and Aldo Peñalosa, respectively), as well as by state and municipal officials.

As of 2019, the city had a population of 108,860 inhabitants, while the metropolitan area has a population of 132,406 inhabitants. Tecate is part of the San Diego-Tijuana metropolitan area and the largest city between Tijuana and Mexicali. Tecate is a regional economic hub and popular tourist destination, known as home to the Tecate Port of Entry and to Tecate beer.
XEWT-TDT, virtual channel 12, informally called "Tu Canal", is a Televisa owned-and-operated television station located in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. XEWT's over-the-air signal also covers the San Diego, California area across the international border in the United States. XEWT's transmitter is located on Mount San Antonio in Tijuana, with a San Diego bureau on Third Avenue in Chula Vista.
XHUAA-TDT, virtual channel 19, is a Las Estrellas television station located in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, whose over-the-air signal also covers the San Diego, California area across the international border in the United States. The station is owned by the Grupo Televisa. XHUAA began broadcasting in digital on UHF 22 in early 2006 making it the second station in Tijuana to have a digital signal.

UABC Radio is a radio station in the state of Baja California, with transmitters in Ensenada, Mexicali and Tijuana. The station is owned by the Autonomous University of Baja California and broadcasts a cultural radio format.
Federal Highway 3 is a tollfree part of the federal highway corridors. One segment connects Tecate to Ensenada in Baja California. This segment ends at its junction with Fed. 1 at El Sauzal Rodriguez, just a little north of Ensenada. This segment of the highway is 112 kilometers (70 mi) long.
Valle de las Palmas is located between two hamlets Espuela and Seco in the municipalities of Tijuana and Tecate, Baja California, Mexico. It is the site of a long-term planned urban development which would take advantage of proximity to the existing cities of Tijuana to the north west and Mexicali to the north east to create a similar sized city of one million people by the year 2030, on Mexican Federal Highway 3 around an existing industrial park and university campus Unidad Valle De Las Palmas. The first project in Valle de las Palmas, named Valle San Pedro, is proposed by the Mexican Federal Government, the State of Baja California, Urbi and Banobras. It has been certified as the first Integral Sustainable Urban Development or DUIS in Mexico, which establishes criteria in collaboration with Interamerican Development Bank IDB to evaluate projects that will receive inter-secretarial technical support and public investment. The locality reported a population of 1,860 inhabitants in the 2010 federal census. It is located at an altitude of 282 m. above sea level.

Federal Highway 2D is a part of the federal highways corridors, and is the designation for toll highways paralleling Mexican Federal Highway 2. Julio Rodríguez Ramos is a Mexican landscape photographer and cultural promoter based in Baja California, Mexico. He was born in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, and during his childhood he enjoyed photography, which later became his profession. After several individual and collective exhibitions, Rodríguez released a photo-book titled Baja California: De Mar a Mar (2011).
California Odha Zertuche Díaz (1923–1991) was a Mexican civil engineer and is credited as the primary developer of the drinking water and sewerage system in Ensenada, Mexico.
