John Nichols Boozman is an American politician and former optometrist serving as the senior United States senator from Arkansas, a seat he has held since 2011. A member of the Republican Party, he was the U.S. representative for Arkansas's 3rd congressional district from 2001 to 2011. He is the dean of Arkansas's congressional delegation.
Jefferson Bingham Miller is an American politician who served as the U.S. representative for Florida's 1st congressional district from 2001 to 2017. Since 2005, federal legislation has been introduced in the 109th Congress, 110th Congress, 111th Congress and the 112th Congress to amend Title 28 United States Code section 1259 to allow members of the United States Armed Forces to appeal court-martial convictions when the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces denies a petition for grant of review or extraordinary relief. In the 112th Congress the Equal Justice for Our Military Act of 2011, H.R. 3133 was introduced in the House of Representatives and the Equal Justice for Our Military Act of 2011, S. 1664 was introduced in the Senate. Both bills are currently pending.
Gary W. Laidig is a Minnesota politician and a former member of the Minnesota Senate and the Minnesota House of Representatives. A Republican, he was first elected to the House in 1972, and represented the old District 51A for five terms. In 1982 he ran successfully for the Senate, and represented the old District 55 and, after the 1992 legislative redistricting, the old District 56 until 2001. While in office, he resided in Bayport and Stillwater. The various configurations of his district included portions of Washington County in the eastern Twin Cities metropolitan area. He was not endorsed for re-election in 2000, and was succeeded by Michele Bachmann.
The Veterans Economic Opportunity Act of 2013, which was introduced as Veterans G.I. Bill Enrollment Clarification Act of 2013, is a bill that would make changes to several economic programs involving veterans. One provision would change how veterans' education benefits are processed. Another provision would increase funding on a program that helps homeless veterans. The bill was introduced into the United States House of Representatives during the 113th United States Congress.
The Veterans Paralympic Act of 2013 is a bill that would help fund United States participation in the Paralympic Games. The United States Department of Veterans Affairs would be authorized $2 million a year to help pay for disabled veterans to train for the games. And additional $8 million would be authorized as a grant to U.S. Paralympics, Inc. The bill was introduced into the United States House of Representatives during the 113th United States Congress.
John Morgan McGarvey is an American attorney and politician serving as the U.S. representative for Kentucky's 3rd congressional district since 2023. A Democrat, he represented the 19th district in the Kentucky Senate from 2013 to 2023. In 2018, he was elected minority leader, becoming one of the youngest members of a general assembly in the nation to serve in a leadership role. The bill H.R. 2942 is a bill that would reestablish the Professional Certification and Licensure Advisory Committee of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs which had previously ended in 2009. The Committee was involved in making recommendations regarding matching military certifications and equivalent civilian certifications so that veterans can smoothly shift into civilian life.
Clifford Scott Franklin is an American politician and businessman who has served in the United States House of Representatives since 2021. He represented Florida's 15th congressional district from 2021 to 2023, and has represented Florida's 18th district since 2023. He is a member of the Republican Party.
