Vanguardia (English: Vanguard), formerly Vanguardia Liberal, is a Colombian regional newspaper, founded in September 1919 in Bucaramanga, Colombia, by Alejandro Galvis Galvis, whose descendants are its current owners.

It was formerly known as Vanguardia Liberal, until it changed its name in March 2019 [1]

The Bahía Solano Fault, Utría Fault or Utría-Bahía Solano Fault is a westward dipping thrust fault in the department of Chocó on the Pacific Coast of Colombia. The fault has a total length of 290.6 kilometres (180.6 mi) and runs along an average north–south strike of 347 ± 13 from the Panama-Colombia border to Bajo Baudó. The fault is partly offshore in the bays of Solano and Utría and crosses the Chocó Basin and the coastal Serranía del Baudó. Movement of the fault produced the Mw  6.5 1970 Bahía Solano earthquake.

Avianca Flight 9463 was a scheduled domestic passenger flight from Bucaramanga to Bogotá in Colombia. On April 12, 1999, a Fokker 50 operating the route was hijacked by a command of six guerrillas from the National Liberation Army (ELN). The aircraft was carrying 41 passengers and five crew members.
