The Rauma is a river that runs through Romsdalen, a valley in Møre og Romsdal and Innlandet counties in Norway. It runs for 68 kilometres (42 mi) from Lesjaskogsvatnet, a lake in the municipality of Lesja, to the town of Åndalsnes in the municipality of Rauma. The river was once famous for its salmon-fishing, but since an infection with Gyrodactylus salaris only 5 to 10% of the original stock survives. The salmon runs up to the Slettafossen, a 16-metre (52 ft) high combination of waterfalls and rapids more than 42 kilometres (26 mi) upriver from the estuary.

Verma is a village in Rauma Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located along the European route E136 highway deep in the Romsdalen valley. The village lies along the Rauma Line, where the Kylling Bridge crosses the Rauma River. The village is named after the local river Verma which empties into the main river Rauma.

The main responsibilities of the county municipality includes the running of 23 upper secondary schools with 2,000 teachers. Øverdalen Church is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Rauma Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the village of Verma in the inner part of the Romsdalen valley. It is the church for the Øverdalen parish which is part of the Indre Romsdal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Møre. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1902 by the architect I.L. Krogseth. The church seats about 150 people.
Møre og Romsdal Hospital Trust is a health trust which covers Møre og Romsdal, Norway. The trust is owned by Central Norway Regional Health Authority and is headquartered in Ålesund. It operates four hospitals: Kristiansund Hospital, Molde Hospital, Ålesund Hospital and Volda Hospital. The agency was created on 1 July 2011 when Nordmøre og Romsdal Hospital Trust and Sunnmøre Hospital Trust were merged.

The waterfall is on the river Verma which is a tributary to the large river Rauma which flows through the Romsdalen valley. The waterfall is near the village of Verma as well as the Rauma railway line and the European route E136.
