Vernon Nile Bennett (August 18, 1936 – November 30, 2008) was an American politician in the state of Iowa.
Iowa is a state in the Midwestern United States, bordered by the Mississippi River to the east and the Missouri River and Big Sioux River to the west. It is bordered by six states; Wisconsin to the northeast, Illinois to the east, Missouri to the south, Nebraska to the west, South Dakota to the northwest and Minnesota to the north.
Bennett was born in Winterset, Iowa. He was a union representative. He served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1967 to 1973 as a Democrat. [1] He died on November 30, 2008, aged 72. [2]
Winterset is a city in and the county seat of Madison County, Iowa, United States. The population was 5,190 at the 2010 census.

It is part of the Fort Polk South Micropolitan Statistical Area and is additionally served by the Leesville Airport. The city is home to the Fort Polk U.S. Army installation. The populations of Fort Polk and Leesville, if combined, would result in a city with a population of more than 20,000.
David Wayne Loebsack is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Iowa's 2nd congressional district since 2007. A member of the Democratic Party, he also is an emeritus professor of political science at Cornell College, where he had taught since 1982. The district includes most of Iowa's southeastern quadrant, including Davenport, Bettendorf, Burlington and Iowa City.
Dwayne Arlan Alons was the Iowa State Representative from the 4th District. A Republican, he served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1999–2014. He was a retired Brigadier General in the Iowa Air National Guard and served as Chief of Staff at its headquarters. Alons died of cancer on November 29, 2014. He was succeeded in office by John Kooiker.

A Republican, he has served in the Iowa House of Representatives since 2007, when he defeated Republican incumbent Paul Wilderdyke in a primary election. Windschitl studied gunsmithing at the Colorado School of Trades. He is a gunsmith and a conductor with the Union Pacific Railroad. He is also United States Marine Reservist and served a six-month tour in Iraq.
Vernon Jones is an American Democratic politician from the US state of Georgia. Jones was chief executive officer of Dekalb County, Georgia, from 2001 until 2009, and in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1993 to 2001. As Dekalb County CEO, Jones presided over the Board of Commissioners, oversaw a 7,000 employee county workforce, and managed a $2.6 billion county operating budget. He unsuccessfully ran for the US Senate in 2008. After unsuccessful runs for the US House of Representatives (2010) and DeKalb County Sheriff (2014), Jones was elected to the Georgia House in 2016.

On December 14, 2015, he became the longest-serving governor in American history. Branstad went on to win a historic sixth term as governor by defeating Democratic challenger and State Senator Jack Hatch. Branstad won 59.1% of the popular vote to Hatch's 37.3%. Branstad won every county except Johnson County.

Huckabee's candidacy for the Republican nomination in the 2016 Presidential election is his second, after having previously run in 2008.
