Viqar-e-Deccan is an Indian Urdu daily newspaper published from Hyderabad, Telangana. It was established in 1976, founded by the late Syed Mustafa Quadri Khateeb, freedom fighter and "Tambra Patra" holder awarded by Sri.V. V. Giri, former president of India. The present editor of Viqar-E-Deccan is Syed Layeeq Quadri Khateeb.

Urdu —or, more precisely, Modern Standard Urdu—is a Persianised standard register of the Hindustani language. It is the official national language and lingua franca of Pakistan. In India, it is one of the 22 official languages recognized in the Constitution of India, having official status in the six states of Jammu and Kashmir, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal, as well as the national capital territory of Delhi. It is a registered regional language of Nepal.

He was the founder of a medical magazine, Hikmat-e-Bangala and was among the group of people who founded the Calcutta Unani Medical College and Hospital. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 2007, for his contributions to Indian medicine.
