The current state senator is Sharon Shewmake. The district's state representatives are Alicia Rule (D; position 1), and Joe Timmons (D; position 2).

Through NASCAR, Winston merchandise was unveiled to live viewers of the races. This kind of merchandise would also be given out at stores that sold cigarettes in subsequent years. Race car drivers were encouraged to smoke cigarettes until the mid-2000s brought in strict drug testing policies in addition to a smoking cessation program by Nicorette, a GlaxoSmithKline brand.

It was established in 1976 by the USA Water Polo, which is the national governing body in the country.
General elections were held in the U.S. state of Washington on November 3, 2020. A primary was held on August 4. This election cycle is notable as it was only the second in state history in which Democrats won the top three statewide elections by double digits. The first was the 1936 election, in the middle of the Great Depression. As of 2023, this was the last time Republicans won any statewide election in Washington.
