Wasim Ali (born 8 June 1969) is a Pakistani former cricketer. He played 63 first-class matches in Pakistan between 1985 and 1994. [1] He was also part of Pakistan's squad for the 1988 Youth Cricket World Cup. [2]

After his playing career, Miandad has remained the coach of Pakistan cricket team at various occasions, as well as held key positions in the Pakistan Cricket Board. He had three coaching stints with the Pakistan national team.

Wasim Akram is a Pakistani cricket commentator, coach and former cricketer, captain of Pakistan national cricket team. He is always acknowledged as one of the greatest bowlers of all time. A left-arm fast bowler who could bowl with significant pace, he represented the Pakistan cricket team in Test cricket and One Day International (ODI) matches. In October 2013, Wasim Akram was the only Pakistani cricketer to be named in an all-time Test World XI to mark the 150th anniversary of Wisden Cricketers' Almanack.

1992 Cricket World Cup Final

The final of the 1992 ICC Cricket World Cup was played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne on 25 March 1992. The match was won by Pakistan, under the captaincy of Imran Khan, as they defeated England by 22 runs to lift their first ever World Cup trophy. This was the second Cricket World Cup final to be played outside England and the first in Australia. 87,182 spectators turned out to see the final.

Multan Sultans is a Pakistani professional Twenty20 franchise cricket team. The team was originally formed in 2017 with the same name. Schön Properties who bought the team in 2017 failed to pay their annual fee of US$5.2 million and thus their contract was expired. Ali Khan Tareen and Taimoor Malik of Multan Consortium are the new owners of the team, who won the rights of the team on 20 December 2018 for US$6.2 million, they decided not to change the name of the team. The team is nominally based in Multan, and was formed in 2018 to compete in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).Multan Cricket Stadium is the team's home ground with a capacity of 35,000. In their inaugural season, the team was captained by Shoaib Malik, who is also their current captain Tom Moody and Wasim Akram were appointed as team's head coach and director respectively. Haider Azhar was the GM- Cricket Operations while Nadeem Khan was the team's manager. Ahead of 2019 season, Johan Botha, who was serving as assistant coach of the team in 2018 season was appointed as head coach, replacing Tom Moody, who withdrew from his role due to domestic commitments. Ahead of the 2020 psl, Former England cricket team's Head coach Andy Flower was appointed as the Head Coach. Ahead of the 2020 psl, Former Pakistan cricket team's Captain Shahid Afridi was appointed as Captain.

The Australian cricket team toured the United Arab Emirates in March 2019 to play five One Day International (ODI) matches against Pakistan. The fixtures were part of both teams' preparation for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
