The Nire and Fourmilewater are two separate clubs, with separate committees pulling from the same pool of players. The Nire is the Gaelic football club in the area and Fourmilewater the hurling club. Both teams play in the Mill Field, Ballymacarbry. The Nire is a half parish with Touraneena, while Fourmilewater is a half parish with Newcastle, County Tipperary. The Nire play in yellow and blue, while Fourmilewater play in blue and white. The related Ballymacarby Ladies' Gaelic football club has won 10 All-Ireland Ladies' Club Football Championship titles.
Leighton Glynn is a Gaelic football and hurling player from County Wicklow in Ireland. He was born and raised in Glenealy, County Wicklow. He has represented the Wicklow senior GAA teams in both football and hurling. At club level, he plays hurling for Glenealy and football for Rathnew.
Kevin O'Brien is a former Gaelic footballer from Baltinglass, County Wicklow. O'Brien was part of the great Baltinglass team that dominated Wicklow football in the 80's and 90's, winning an All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship Title in 1990. He is also the only Wicklow recipient of an All Star having won one in 1990 at Full Forward. He won a Railway Cup medal with Leinster in 1986, before he had even played for his county and added a second in 1990. He also represented the Irish International Rules team in 1990 in the success over Australia and again in the 1998 Series. He was also part of the Wicklow team that won the All-Ireland Junior Football Championship Title in 2002. He was inducted in the GAA's Hall of Fame in 2010 and is one of the youngest recipients of the accolade. He received his award at the 2010 Leinster final.
Tom Prendergast is an Irish former sportsperson. He played Gaelic football with his local club Keel and was a member of the Kerry county team at senior level in the 1960s and 1970s. He won the Texaco Footballer of the Year in 1970. During the 1960s he also played with Wicklow, Donegal and Cork.
Hugh Kenny is a former Irish Gaelic footballer from Baltinglass in County Wicklow. Kenny was part of the Baltinglass team that dominated Wicklow football in the 1980s and 1990s, winning an All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship Title in 1990. He also managed the Wicklow from 2003 to 2006 but resigned following heavy defeat to Carlow. He also played Full Back on the Wicklow team that beat Kerry in the 2002 All-Ireland Junior Football Championship.
Brian Farrell is a Gaelic footballer from Nobber, County Meath, Ireland. He plays for the Meath county team and his local club Nobber. He first came to national attention when he was part of the Meath team that made it to the 2002 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship final but lost out to Derry having already been beaten by Longford in the Leinster Championship final. The following year, he was part of the Meath side that won the Leinster and All-Ireland Junior Football Championships. At club level, he has won County and Leinster Junior medals in 2002 and an All-Ireland Junior Club Football Championship medal in 2003. In 2010, Farrell won a Meath Intermediate Football Championship medal.
Cathal Sheridan is a former dual player from County Meath, Ireland. He played both Gaelic football and hurling at all levels with Meath and hurling with the Kildare county team. He won All Ireland football medals at Minor, Under 21 and Senior with Meath in the 1990s as well as a Junior medal in 2003. In 2003 he created his own piece of history by becoming the only Meath player to win All Ireland medals at Minor, Under 21, Junior and Senior level.
Paul Barden is a former Gaelic footballer who played at senior level for the Longford county team from October 1998 until February 2015 when he announced his retirement. He was the longest serving inter-county player in the country until his retirement. He won an O'Byrne Cup medal with them in 2000, he also won 2 O'Byrne Shield medals in 2006 and 2007. He was also a member of the Ireland international rules football team in 2002 and 2006. He also won a Railway Cup with Leinster in 2001 and 2002. In 2011, he captained Longford to victory over Roscommon in the National Football League Div 4 final at Croke Park and in 2012, Longford were back at Croke Park, this time for the Division 3 final and again won beating Wexford with Barden once again captain.
Enda Galvin is a Gaelic footballer and hurler from County Kerry, Ireland. He plays his club football with his local club Finuge and with his divisional side Feale Rangers and has enjoyed much success. He also plays hurling with his local club Lixnaw. Galvin also played for the Kerry senior football team in 2000.
Don Hyland is a hurler from County Wicklow, Ireland. He played with the county team for almost 20 years, winning every other honour available to him at club and county level, including 7 Kehoe Cups, League, and 1 All-Ireland Senior B Hurling Championship.
Mark Miley is a dual player from County Roscommon, Ireland. He plays both Gaelic football and hurling with his club St Dominic's, of Knockroghery. At minor level, he played in goal for the Roscommon team that won the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship in 2006. After minor level, he went on to play at junior level for Roscommon footballers, where he won a Connacht Junior Football Championship in 2009.
Barry O'Grady is a Gaelic footballer and hurler who plays with Ballyduff and Kerry. He played Minor, Vocational Schools, Under 21, Junior and Senior football with Kerry, as well as underage hurling. He won Munster Minor Football Championship medals in 2002 and 2003, he also won Munster Vocational Schools medals the same years. He was part of the Kerry team that won the McGrath Cup in 2011 also. He won a County Senior Hurling Championships with Ballyduff in 2006 and 2010. He also won a North Kerry Senior Football championships in 2005 and 2006. In 2003 he was Captain of the Causeway Comprehensive School teams that won County, Munster and All Ireland Vocational Schools titles.
Darren Dineen is a hurler from County Kerry. He plays hurling with Kerry and St Brendan's, Ardfert and also plays football with Ardfert. In 2011 he helped Kerry win their first Christy Ring Cup when they beat Wicklow in the final. He played in the 2013 final but lost out to Down, he later won a Christy Ring All Star.
