Powderfinger Australian rock band

Powderfinger were an Australian rock band formed in Brisbane in 1989. From 1992 until their break-up in 2010 the line-up consisted of vocalist Bernard Fanning, guitarists Darren Middleton and Ian Haug, bass guitarist John Collins and drummer Jon Coghill. The group's third studio album Internationalist peaked at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in September 1998. They followed with four more number-one studio albums in a row: Odyssey Number Five, Vulture Street, Dream Days at the Hotel Existence and Golden Rule. Their Top Ten hit singles are "My Happiness" (2000), "(Baby I've Got You) On My Mind" (2003) and "Lost and Running" (2007). Vulture Street is the fifth studio album by Australian alternative rock band by Powderfinger, released on 29 July 2003 by Universal Music. It won the 2003 ARIA Music Award for Best Rock Album. Produced by Nick DiDia, Vulture Street was certified platinum, and spent 47 weeks on the ARIA Charts and peaked at #1. Singles from the album included "(Baby I've Got You) On My Mind", "Since You've Been Gone", "Love Your Way" and "Sunsets".

The Beautiful Girls Australian roots band

The Beautiful Girls are an Australian roots music group founded in Sydney in 2001 by Mat McHugh, Clay MacDonald and Mitchell Connelly. They have released three extended plays, Morning Sun (2002), Goodtimes (2002) and The Weight of the World (2004); plus five studio albums, Learn Yourself (2003), We're Already Gone (2005), Ziggurats (2007), Spooks (2010), and Dancehall Days (2014). The latter four albums have all peaked into the top 20 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Spooks and "Dancehall Days" also debuted at No. 1 on the Australian Independent Chart and, No. 7&5 (respectively) on the American Billboard Reggae Albums Chart. Their single, "I Thought About You", reached No. 60 on the ARIA Singles Chart.

Bliss n Eso Australian hip hop trio

Bliss n Eso are an Australian hip hop trio based in Sydney, and were originally known as Bliss n' Esoterik for their debut EP The Arrival. Bliss n Eso are currently signed to Melbourne record label Illusive Sounds, and are managed and booked by label co-founders Adam Jankie and Matt Gudinski. Bliss n Eso have released six studio albums which include three number 1 debuts on the ARIA Charts. They have also won two ARIA Award for Best Urban Release for their 2008 album Flying Colours and for Best Music Video for their 2017 single "Moments". Eso, under the alias Esoterik, released an album entitled "My Astral Plane" in May 2018.

Missy Higgins Australian singer-songwriter

Melissa Morrison Higgins is an Australian singer songwriter. Her Australian number-one albums are The Sound of White (2004), On a Clear Night (2007) and The Ol' Razzle Dazzle (2012), and her singles include "Scar", "Steer" and "Where I Stood". Higgins was nominated for five ARIA Music Awards in 2004 and won 'Best Pop Release' for "Scar". In 2005, she was nominated for seven more awards and won five. Higgins won her seventh ARIA in 2007. Her third album, The Ol' Razzle Dazzle, was released in Australia in June 2012. As of August 2014, Higgins' first three studio albums had sold over one million units.

"The Cold Acre" is the second single released in 2006 from Moo, You Bloody Choir, the third studio album by Australian indie rock band, Augie March. In Bernard Zuel's review of the album, he described how the song's "lyrics fill me with wonder. From a homeless man facing death with equanimity ." Robert Forster describes the lyrics as "beautiful lines, and they talk to each other." Billboard Magazine described the song as "gentle and poppy, layered with piano and harmonies".

Skin is a studio album by Australian musician Katie Noonan. It was released in August 2007 and peaked at number 6 on the Australian ARIA Charts. Skin was the first album released by Noonan as a solo artist and recorded between the time of 3 and 8 months pregnant. Noonan says: "I love the themes I explored on this album – I was a madly in love newlywed, experiencing the miracle of pregnancy – it was quite a trip to document! Inspired by Donny Hathaway, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Vince Jones, this album was all about exploring groove for me. I learn’t a huge amount making this album and I am really grateful for the arduous journey I took with this process, as since then, it has confirmed my instinct to listen to and trust my inner voice."

Tony Dupé is an Australian music producer and musician. He performs and releases music under the name of Saddleback. He has released two solo albums, Everything's a Love Letter and Night Maps. Known for his work with Holly Throsby, who he produced three albums for, Dupé has also worked with Grand Salvo, Piers Twomey, Jamie Hutchings, Bluebottle Kiss, Jack Ladder, SeaLifePark, Glovebox, Fergus Brown, The Woods, Grand Salvo, and many others. Dupé recently composed the score to the ABC animated series The Gradual Demise of Phillipa Finch.

D. Rogers is an Australian musician based in Melbourne. He was a member of Klinger until he left in 2003 and moved to Japan. While in Japan, working as an English teacher, he recorded two albums, the first being a friends-only release. He returned to Australia in 2007 and recorded a third solo album.

Sarah Blasko Australian singer-songwriter, musician, record producer

Sarah Blasko is an Australian singer-songwriter, musician and producer. From April 2002 Blasko developed her solo career after fronting Sydney-based band, Acquiesce, between the mid-1990s and 2001. She had performed under her then married name, Sarah Semmens, and, after leaving Acquiesce, as Sorija in a briefly existing duo of that name. As a solo artist Blasko has released six studio albums, The Overture & the Underscore, What the Sea Wants, the Sea Will Have – which peaked at No. 7 on the ARIA Albums Chart, As Day Follows Night – which reached No. 5, I Awake – which made No. 9, Eternal Return, and Depth of Field.

Andrew Morris is a musician from Brisbane, Queensland. He is a former member of Palladium and is part of The Wilson Pickers, performs in a duo with Danny Widdicombe and has a solo career. In 2008 he won the Grant McLennan Memorial Scholarship.

Bernard Zuel is an Australian music journalist. Zuel has written for Fairfax Media newspapers The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald since 1992. As of August 2013, he is the senior music writer and reviewer for Fairfax Media. Zuel is a judge of the Australian Music Prize award.

Hellions is an Australian punk rock band from Sydney, formed in 2013 after the break up of The Bride, in which drummer Anthony Caruso, bassist turned vocalist Dre Faivre and guitarist/vocalist Matt Gravolin continued under a different moniker. They have released four studio albums; their third, Opera Oblivia, was nominated for the 2016 ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album. Rue their fourth studio album was released on 19 October 2018 via UNFD.

Emma Swift is an Australian singer-songwriter. Her self-titled EP, recorded in Nashville with producer Anne McCue, was nominated for a 2014 ARIA Award for Best Country Album.

Mick Hart is an Australian musician. His debut album, Still the Flowers Bloom, reached the ARIA Albums Chart top 100. It had been recorded in late 2000 with Jim Moginie producing. Hart's second album, Upside Down in the Full Face of Optimism, was nominated for Best Blues & Roots Album at the ARIA Music Awards of 2002.

Polish Club is a rock duo from Sydney formed in 2014. The duo is made up of David Novak and John-Henry Pajak (drums). They are sometimes seen playing with producer Wade Keighran (bass). Their debut album Alright Already was nominated for the 2017 ARIA Award for Best Rock Album.

[Love] Tattoo a.k.a. Stephen Allkins is an Australian DJ and music producer. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2001 his single, "Bass Has Got Me Movin'" (April), was nominated for the Best Dance Release, and his debut album, [Love] Tattoo, was nominated for the same category in 2002. "Bass Has Got Me Movin'" reached No. 56 on the ARIA Singles Chart.

Dustin Tebbutt is an Australian musician. His single "The Breach" reached #76 on the ARIA singles chart and was #44 in 2013 Triple J Hottest 100. His albums Home and First Light reached #34 and #13 on the ARIA albums chart. He was nominated for the 2014 ARIA Music Award for Engineer of the Year for his EP Bones.

Spirit of Akasha is an Australian surfing film. Its soundtrack album was nominated for a 2014 ARIA Award for Best Original Soundtrack, Cast or Show Album.
