Ebonyi State is a state in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria,bordered to the north and northeast by Benue State,Enugu State to the west,Cross River State to the east and southeast,and Abia State to the southwest. Named for the Abonyi (Aboine) River—a large part of which is in the state's south—Ebonyi State was formed from parts of Abia and Enugu state in 1996 and has its capital in Abakaliki.
Awka is the capital city of Anambra State,Nigeria. The city was declared capital on 21 August 1991,after the creation of Anambra and Enugu state,which moved the capital from Enugu to Awka. The city has an estimated population of 301,657 as of the 2006 Nigerian census. The both LGAs of Awka South and North had a estimated population of 430,200 in 2022. The city is located at 199.1 kilometres (123.7 mi),by road,directly north of Port Harcourt in the centre of the densely-populated Igbo heartland in South-East Nigeria.

Mohammad Mahmood Abubakar is the current Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. Abubakar replaced Sabo Nanono and took charge of the affairs of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in September 2021,after he was redeployed from the Federal Ministry of Environment by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Awka'Awka South Local Government Area (LGA) is made up of nine towns,namely,Amawbia,Awka,Ezinato,Isiagu,Mbaukwu,Nibo,Nise,Okpuno and Umuawulu. There are three major streets that span this area,which are the Zik Avenue,Works Road and Arthur Eze Avenue. In the past,the people of Awka South LGA were well known for blacksmithing. Today they are respected among the Igbo people of Nigeria for their technical and business skills.

Ikwo is the home to Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo (FUNAI) One of the Universities established by president Goodluck Jonathan. Ikwo also plays host to Ebonyi State College of Education,Ikwo at Ndufu Echara.

She was cleared on the 15th of May 2022 to run for the Ebonyi North Senatorial race on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Sonni Ogbuoji is a Nigerian politician who was elected Senator for Ebonyi South,in Ebonyi State,Nigeria in the 9 April 2011 national elections. He was elected on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) ticket. He left the senate in the 2019. Sonni hails from Ebunwana Edda in Afikpo South local government area of Ebonyi state.
Amawbia is a town in Awka South Local Government of Anambra State,Nigeria. The town has six surviving villages:Umueze,Ngene,Adabebe,Umukabia,Ezimezi and Enu-oji. From time immemorial,Amawbia had been an autonomous community,managing its own affairs. Beginning from 1905,Amawbia had been the seat of government for the former Awka District,the former Njikoka Local Government,and presently,Awka Local Government. Amawbia is also home to the state house i.e. Governor's lodge and the State Prisons,Amawbia is known as the land of great farmers and hunters Amawbia (Amaobia) meaning they don't know visitors they treat everyone as equal.
David Nweze Umahi is a Nigerian politician who serves as the minister of works of Nigeria. He previously served as the senator representing Ebonyi South senatorial district from June to August 2023,and as the governor of Ebonyi State from 2015 to 2023;and deputy governor from 2011 to 2015.

The 2023 Ebonyi State gubernatorial election will take place on 18 March 2023,to elect the Governor of Ebonyi State,concurrent with elections to the Ebonyi State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—will be held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent APC Governor Dave Umahi is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term.

Other federal elections,including elections to the House of Representatives and the Senate,will also be held on the same date while state elections will be held two weeks afterward on 11 March.
