Winfried Toll (born 1955) is a German conductor,singer,composer and academic teacher.
Born in Dorsten,Toll first studied theologie and philosophy at University of Münster and the University of Freiburg. He then studied composition,music theory and music pedagogy with Klaus Huber and Brian Ferneyhough at the Musikhochschule Freiburg. He took master classes in singing with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf,and in conducting with Helmuth Rilling.
From 1988,Toll has been conductor of the Camerata Vocale Freiburg,from 1994 to 2002 director of the choir Bach-Verein Köln ,and from 1997 he has been the artistic director of the Frankfurter Kantorei. The same year he was appointed professor of the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main.

Helmuth Rilling is a German choral conductor and an academic teacher. He is the founder of the Gächinger Kantorei (1954), the Bach-Collegium Stuttgart (1965), the Oregon Bach Festival (1970), the Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart (1981) and other Bach Academies worldwide, as well as the "Festival Ensemble Stuttgart" (2001) and the "Junges Stuttgarter Bach Ensemble" (2011). He taught choral conducting at the Frankfurt Musikhochschule from 1965 to 1989 and led the Frankfurter Kantorei from 1969 to 1982.

Frankfurter Kantorei is a German mixed concert choir established in July 1945 by Kurt Thomas in Frankfurt. In 1969, Helmuth Rilling assumed leadership, and the choir began recording the complete Bach cantatas in 1972. From 1982 to 1997, Wolfgang Schäfer was artistic director of the Frankfurter Kantorei. Since then it has been led by Winfried Toll. The choir has performed concert tours abroad in Paris, Lyon, Venice, Turin, Vienna, Helsinki, St Petersburg, Istanbul, Los Angeles, Seattle and Toronto, among others, and first appeared in Israel in 1979. The group has made numerous CD recordings on the EMI Classics label. In 2000 they were a recipient of the Binding Kulturpreis, and in May 2000, they performed Brecht/Weill's Three Penny Opera at the Musiktriennale Köln of Cologne. The choir has a membership of about 70.
The Spandauer Kirchenmusikschule was a music academy in Spandau, Berlin, Germany. Founded in 1929, it was housed in the Heinrich-Schütz-Haus in Spandau and was closed in 1998. The schools choir appeared and recorded as the Spandauer Kantorei. It was located in today's Berlin-Hakenfelde, and is also known as Berliner Kirchenmusikschule.
