Course
Each episode, 24 participants from French-speaking Canada undergo a series of obstacle courses, and those who manage to make it past the round.
The Scanner
The twelve remaining candidates are perched on poles in a circle about four feet in height. A horizontal motorized bar starts rotating, passing over the poles. The candidates must jump to avoid it, and test continues, the more the bar rotates faster and it rises.
A candidate has the right to grab the pole if it is unbalanced, but he/she must stand up on the pole before the bar does not switch back to its level.
The final six contestants standing make it to the next round, but the test continues until there is only one candidate remaining.
The Wipeout Zone
First, applicants must go down a slide, a length of 45 feet before reaching the pool. Second, they must reach a slope where they have to go over rolling drums of 50 kg . Then they must pass through the "wall of rain", where participants have to make their way to the other end of the narrow ledge, with small rocks fixated on the adjacent wall for contestants to grip on, as gallons of water flow down the wall, impeding the contestants' balance.
The candidate then must jump on a turnstile consisting of giant poles arranged around a wheel, in which the candidate must hold. On the other side is a small platform on which to jump to continue. Then contestants must make their way to the beam, a beam that turns around on itself. If the candidate is dropped, he/she must go on the platform again and repeat the process, but the beam does not turn.
Finally, the candidate must jump on two trampolines, the second being located higher than the first. The candidate must push a button on the final platform to stop the timer.
The candidate who finishes the course in the shortest amount of time will be declared the champion of Quebec's Wipeout.
An assault course is a trail that combines running and exercising. It is often used in military training. The prime use is to evaluate progress and weaknesses of the individual or the team involved.
Viking: The Ultimate Obstacle Course, sometimes abbreviated to Viking: TUOC, is a Japanese obstacle course endurance game show using an obstacle course produced by Fuji TV and Monster9. The English version of Viking is produced by ESPN2 with two American commentators calling the action. In Europe it airs on Eurosport 2 with the American commentators in the first season and British commentator Colin Bryce in the second. In the Philippines, Viking was aired in TV5 and hosted by Brod Pete, Richard del Rosario, and Gabe Mercardo. In Taiwan on JET TV in its original form with Chinese subtitles and Thailand on Channel 9 MCOT in Thai program "แชมป์ เฉือน แชมป์" in 2009, later this program are broadcast other Japanese game show like Original Iron Chef, Unbeatable Banzuke and Sasuke Ninja Warrior. The entire show is broadcast from Tokyo Bay.
An obstacle course is a series of challenging physical obstacles an individual, team or animal must navigate, usually while being timed. Obstacle courses can include running, climbing, jumping, crawling, swimming, and balancing elements with the aim of testing speed, endurance and agility. Sometimes a course involves mental tests. The idea has been adapted into TV shows and video games.

Gladiators is an Australian television series which aired on Saturday nights on the Seven Network from 29 April 1995 until 12 October 1996 almost consecutively for eighteen months. It was based on the popular franchise of the same name, which started with American Gladiators in 1989. However the Australian show was more heavily based on the British version of the 1990s with events, format and even music being used from that show.
Kunoichi is a women's obstacle course competition held in Japan and broadcast on the Tokyo Broadcasting System. It is a spin-off of Sasuke, another obstacle course series. Kunoichi is different from Sasuke in that the competitors are exclusively female. The show is re-broadcast as Women of Ninja Warrior on the American G4 channel. It originally ran for 8 tournaments between 2001 and 2009 with the first tournament held as Kinniku Banzuke special. In 2017, after an 8-year hiatus, it was renewed for a 9th tournament which aired on February 12, 2017. The 9th, 10th, and 11th tournaments took place on an indoor course at the Makuhari Messe Convention Hall, unlike past tournaments taking place at Mt. Midoriyama Studio City.
Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Gauntlet III is the 15th season of the MTV reality game show, The Challenge.
Wipeout is an American television game show that features contestants competing in the "World's Largest" obstacle course which originally aired on ABC from June 24, 2008, to September 7, 2014. In 2021, the show was rebooted on TBS, with John Cena, Nicole Byer, and Camille Kostek as hosts.
Pinoy Fear Factor is a Philippine television reality competition show broadcast by ABS-CBN The show is based from the Netherlands game show Now or Neverland. Hosted by Ryan Agoncillo, it aired on the network's Primetime Bida evening line up from November 10, 2008 to February 20, 2009, replacing Iisa Pa Lamang and was replaced by SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon. The Philippines is the 30th country to use Buenos Aires, Argentina as the location of the series. Other Fear Factor hubs are located in South Africa and Serbia.
Wipeout, presented on air as Wipeout Australia, is an Australian game show, which is based on the American game show of the same name. The game show premiered on the Nine Network on Tuesday 3 February 2009 at 7:30 pm for an initial run of eight episodes. The show was produced by Endemol Southern Star. The show is currently being re-aired on GO!, a Nine Network multi-channel.
Total Wipeout is a British game show hosted by Richard Hammond and Amanda Byram which first aired on the BBC on 3 January 2009. In each episode, contestants competed in a series of challenges in an attempt to win £10,000. These challenges were based in large pools of water or mud and generally involved large assault courses that contestants had to cross. These were gradually eliminated over four rounds until one contestant remained, who won a £10,000 cash prize, except for the “Celebrity Specials,” in which the money was donated to the winner’s chosen charity.
Real World Road Rules Challenge: The Ruins is the 18th season of the MTV reality television game show, The Challenge. This is the last season to use Real World/Road Rules in the on-screen title, before being shortened to The Challenge in the 19th season.

The first season of the American reality competition series Ultimate Beastmaster premiered exclusively via Netflix's web streaming service on February 24, 2017. The show consists of 10 Beastmaster episodes which were released simultaneously on Netflix worldwide. The show was filmed in Santa Clarita, California, over the course of eight nights.
The Challenge XXX: Dirty 30 is the thirtieth season of the MTV reality competition series, The Challenge. It was filmed in Colombia during May and June 2017, with alumni from The Real World, Road Rules, The Challenge, and Are You the One? competing. Jonathan Murray, Gil Goldschein, Scott Freeman, and Fred Birckhead were the executive producers, with Ryan Smith and Danny Wascou serving as co-executive producers.
Series Three of Ninja Warrior UK, a British physical obstacle assault course game show, was aired on ITV from 31 December 2016 to 18 February 2017. Of the 250 contestant who took part, this series' competition was won by Jonny Urszuly. During its broadcast, the series averaged around 3.81 million viewers.
