The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) is a college athletic conference in the Midwestern United States that participates in the NCAA's Division I as a hockey-only conference. The current CCHA began play in the 2021–22 season; a previous incarnation, which the current CCHA recognizes as part of its history, existed from 1971 to 2013. Four of its nine members are located in the state of Michigan, with three in Minnesota and one each in Ohio and South Dakota. It has also had teams located in Alaska, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Nebraska over the course of its existence.
College Hockey America (CHA) is a college ice hockey conference in the United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a hockey-only conference. The conference is made up of six women's teams, with three in Pennsylvania; two in New York, and one in Missouri.
The Northeastern women's ice hockey team represents Northeastern University. The Huskies play in the Hockey East conference.
The Princeton Tigers women's ice hockey team represents Princeton University in the ECAC Hockey conference in the NCAA Division I women's ice hockey. They play at the Hobey Baker Memorial Rink. In the 2019-2020 season, they won their first ECAC championship, defeating #1 ranked Cornell by a score of 3-2 in overtime.
The Boston College Eagles women's ice hockey team represent Boston College in the NCAA and participate in Hockey East. The Eagles are coached by former Olympic gold medallist Katie King-Crowley and play their home games at Conte Forum. They have won the Hockey East championship three times, and made seven trips to the Frozen Four of the NCAA tournament.
Penn State Nittany Lions women's ice hockey is a college ice hockey program that has represented Penn State University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and College Hockey America (CHA) since the 2012–13 season. The program was preceded by a club team that competed at the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 1 level, primarily as a member of Eastern Collegiate Women's Hockey League (ECWHL). Penn State plays its home games at Pegula Ice Arena in University Park, Pennsylvania.
Jillian T. Dempsey is an American ice hockey player who currently plays for PWHL Montreal in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). The former captain of the Boston Pride of the now-defunct Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), she holds the all-time PHF records for games played, goals, assists, and points, and is one of only two players to have won the Isobel Cup three times.
The Minnesota Golden Gophers women's ice hockey program represented the University of Minnesota during the 2015-16 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The program advanced to the Frozen Four championship game for the fifth consecutive year and defeated the Boston College Eagles by a 3–1 tally in the title game.
Daryl Watts is a Canadian women's ice hockey player for PWHL Ottawa of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). While a member of the Boston College Eagles, Watts was awarded the 21st Patty Kazmaier Award, becoming the first freshman player to win the award. Watts finished the season with 82 points, which led all competitors in NCAA women's ice hockey.
Jesse Compher is an American ice hockey player for PWHL Toronto of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She is also a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team, and represented the United States at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Nelli Laitinen is a Finnish ice hockey player and member of the Finnish national team, currently playing in the NCAA Division I with the Minnesota Golden Gophers women's ice hockey program.
The 2019–20 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season is the 19th season of competition in the National Collegiate division of NCAA women's ice hockey, the de facto equivalent of Division I in that sport. The season began in September 2019 and ended on March 10, 2020 following the conclusion of the ECAC Championship. The 2020 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey tournament at Agganis Arena in Boston which was supposed to be held March 20 and 22 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aerin Frankel is an American ice hockey goaltender as a member of PWHL Boston and the United States women's national ice hockey team. She was one of the best goaltenders in women's NCAA history. She won the Patty Kazmaier Award in 2021. She is a two-time recipient of the WHCA National Goalie of the Year award and was the inaugural winner in 2021. In 2023, Frankel won gold with the United States women's national ice hockey team at the 2023 IIHF Women's World Championship in Brampton, Ontario.
The Boston College Eagles represented Boston College in Women's Hockey East Association play during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The program qualified for the 2021 NCAA National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Tournament, ranking as the #6 seed. On January 31, 2021, it marked the 500th game together at BC for head coach Katie Crowley and associate head coach Courtney Kennedy.
The Minnesota Golden Gophers represented the University of Minnesota in WCHA women's ice hockey during the 2021-22 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. They won the WCHA regular-season title, but lost to Ohio State 3–2 in the conference tournament finals on home ice.
Hannah Bilka is an American women's ice hockey player for Ohio State and a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. She previously played college ice hockey at Boston College.
Kiara Zanon is an American ice hockey player for Penn State and member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. She was named the Women's Hockey Commissioners Association National Rookie of the Year in 2022.
