The Workers' Party (Spanish: Partido Obrero, PO) was a Bolivian left-wing-socialist political party.

The Workers' Party was founded on November 23, 1937 by the leaders of the trade union Confederation of Bolivian Workers. The leaders of the Workers' Party were Waldo Álvarez España, Eduardo Arze Loureiro, Julio Ordóñez, Federico González, Luciano Durán Böger, Luis Peñaloza and Román Vera Álvarez. [1]
Luciano Durán Böger was a Bolivian poet, writer and politician. Son of Luciano Duran Pérez and Aurora Böger Rivero, was born in 1904 in Santa Ana, capital of the Yacuma province of the Department of Beni in Bolivia and died in 1996 in the city of La Paz.
The Workers' Party was associated with the revolutionary government of Colonel Germán Busch Becerra (1937–1939). For the 1938 congressional elections, the Workers' Party was the component of the pro-military Socialist Single Front. [2]
Germán Busch Becerra was a former Bolivian military officer, hero of the Chaco War, and president of Bolivia between 1937 and 1939. Busch also served as president for three days during May 1936.

The Bolivian National Convention of 1938 was an elected constituent assembly held from May 23 to October 30, and charged with rewriting the constitution of Bolivia. President David Toro called for the National Convention in 1937, but had been replaced by Germán Busch by the time it was held. Voter rolls for electing Convention members were opened in August 1937, and the vote was held in March 1938.

Federico Melchor Fernández was a Spanish journalist and communist politician. He was one of the leaders of the Communist Youth Union of Spain. During the Spanish Civil War (1936–39) he was general director of Propaganda in the government of Juan Negrín. He became a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Spain.
Virginia González Polo was a Spanish political and feminist leader, socialist, and communist.
Vicente Uribe Galdeano was a metalworker who became a member of the executive of the Communist Party of Spain. He served as Minister of Agriculture during the Spanish Civil War (1936–39). He went into exile in Mexico during World War II (1939–45), then lived in France and Czechoslovakia after the war. He was disgraced in 1956 during the post-Stalinist power struggle.
