The show's inaugural Hungarian season ended on 19 December, 2010. Csaba Vastag was announced as the winner. It was broadcast on the commercial RTL Klub television station.

Auditions

The auditions started in the summer of 2010, with more than 5,000 candidates for the first series in Hungary.

Bootcamp

The Bootcamp was in the Thalia Theatre where 150 singers competed. In the first round the contestants sang a song of their choice. The judges immediately told the contestants if they were safe or not. In the second round only 50 contestants competed and they chose a song for themselves from a list. After this, based on the judges decision 24 contestants went to the third round called "Judge's houses".

Judge's houses

At this stage of the competition each judge mentored six acts. Each judge had help from a guest judge to choose their final acts. Keresztes was helped by Zoltán Ádok, Malek by his sister Andrea Malek, Nagy by Dániel Abebe, and Geszti by Mariann Falusi. Contestants performed one song for their respective judge. Each judge and their guest eliminated three acts, leaving twelve remaining. The judges' houses stage was broadcast in two episodes on 9 and 10 October 2010.

X-Faktor is the Hungarian version of The X Factor, a show originating from the United Kingdom. It is a television music talent show contested by aspiring pop singers drawn from public auditions. The show premiered in 2010 and it continues its success nowadays in the Ninth series.

Csaba Vastag Hungarian singer

Csaba Vastag is a Hungarian musician, who won the first ever series of the Hungarian X-Faktor in 2010.

Beugró is a Hungarian short-form improvisational comedy TV show. The show's format is similar to the one of Whose Line Is It Anyway?. It was first aired on December 31, 2007 on TV2, but was not renewed after the first season. The Hungarian public service television and Comedy Central Hungary took Beugró over after its cancellation, but one year later they passed it to Cool TV. In 2011, Viasat 3 bought the rights of the show but stopped production after only one year. The last episode was aired on January 1, 2012. The show had a spring and a fall season each year. In late 2017, RTL II—one of Cool TV's sister channels—revived the series for a tenth anniversary season.

The second season of the Hungarian television music talent show X-Faktor ended on 18 December 2011. Tibor Kocsis was announced as the winner. It was broadcast on the privately owned RTL Klub television station.

This is the third season of Hungarian version of The X Factor.

Hungary participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden. The Hungarian entry was selected through a national selection format titled again "A Dal", consisting of three heats, two semi-finals and a final, organised by the Hungarian broadcaster MTVA. ByeAlex represented Hungary with the song "Kedvesem", which qualified from the second semi-final of the competition and finished in 10th place in the final, scoring 84 points.

This is the fourth season of Hungarian version of The X Factor. The fourth season premiered on 7 September 2013 on the commercial channel RTL Klub. The show was hosted by Lilu and Bence Istenes. The original host Nóra Ördög left the show due to her pregnancy. The line up also changed this year. The only original judge, who returned for season 4 was Péter Geszti. Joined him on the panel Róbert Szikora, Gabi Tóth and Róbert Alföldi.

Hungarian pop is the pop music scene of Hungary. It is often associated with Rezső Seress's song "Gloomy Sunday" which was covered by numerous artists. The most notable artists include Kati Kovács, Zsuzsa Koncz, Locomotiv GT, Omega, Neoton Família, Jimmy Zámbó. Among the new talents are Kállay Saunders and Linda Király.

Hungary participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Their entry was selected through the national competition A Dal, organised by the Hungarian broadcaster Magyar Televízió (MTV). András Kállay-Saunders represented Hungary with the song "Running", which qualified from the first semi-final and placed 5th in the final, scoring 143 points. It is the second best position ever for Hungary, after 4th place in their debut year 1994.

X-Faktor is a Hungarian television music competition to find new singing talent. The fifth series was broadcast on RTL Klub in 2014. Bence Istenes presented his second series of X-Faktor. Róbert Szikora, Gabi Tóth and Róbert Alföldi all returned to judge the talent for the second time. Gábor Szűcs, a new judge joined them, replacing the original judge Péter Geszti.

Tamás Vastag Hungarian singer

Tamás Vastag is a Hungarian Music Awards-winning Hungarian singer and actor. He is most well known for coming 5th on the first season of the Hungarian version of X-Factor.

Rocktenors is a Hungarian rock band from Szigetszentmiklos formed in 2010, which was started by the second season of the RTL Klub series X-Faktor, and came in sixth place, and subsequently became one of the most successful groups in the series.

Hungary participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. The local Media Services and Support Trust Fund (MTVA) and the Hungarian broadcaster Duna Media Service Provider organised the national final A Dal 2018 in order to select the Hungarian entry for the 2018 contest in Lisbon, Portugal.

Mihály Mező Hungarian singer

Mihály Mező (born 1 August 1978, Gyula), better known as Misi Mező, is a Hungarian singer and musician, most well known for being the lead vocalist for the rock band Magna Cum Laude.
