Yamanya Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium, located in downtown Mawlamyine, Myanmar.

The 1961 Southeast Asian Peninsular Games, officially known as the 2nd Southeast Asian Peninsular Games, was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event held in Rangoon, Burma from 11 to 16 December 1961 with 13 sports featured in the games. This was the first time all six founding members of the SEAP Games Federation competed in the biennial sports festival and the first time Myanmar, then known as Burma hosted the games. Burma, later known as Myanmar is the second country to host the Southeast Asian Peninsular Games, which later known as the Southeast Asian Games after Thailand. The games was opened and closed by Win Maung, the President of Burma at the Bogyoke Aung San Stadium. The final medal tally was led by host Burma, followed by Thailand and Malaya.
The 2013 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 27th Southeast Asian Games, was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event took place in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar. Around 4730 athletes from 11 participating nations competed at the games, which featured 460 events in 34 sports. The games were held from 11 to 22 December 2013.
The Bogyoke Aung San Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium, located in downtown Yangon, Myanmar. It was built as cricket ground in 1908, completed in 1910 and named as Burma Athletic Association Ground. The 400 m (1,300 ft) runway was constructed in 1935.
Thuwunna Stadium is a multi-use stadium complex, located in Yangon, Myanmar. The 32,000-seat stadium is smaller but more up-to-date than the Aung San Stadium. It's the venue of choice for most national and international level football and track and field competitions. The Thuwunna National Indoor Stadium is part of the same complex.

On 16 May 2009, the league launched its inaugural two-month tournament, the Myanmar National League Cup 2009 in preparation for the first full season in 2010. Despite its national ambitions, the league held the MNL Cup 2009 matches in the country's two main stadiums in Yangon due to the lack of adequate facilities elsewhere. On 5 July 2009, Yadanabon FC defeated Yangon United FC in the MNL Cup final to become the first-ever MNL Champions.
Southern Myanmar United Football Club is a Burmese football club, based at Southern Myanmar Football Stadium in Mawlamyine, Myanmar. The club was a founding member of the Myanmar National League (MNL) in 2009. The club represents the Mon State, Kayin State and Tanintharyi Region in southern coast of Myanmar. Although it plans to use the Kyaungtha Stadium in Mawlamyine as its home field, it presently shares the Aung San Stadium in Yangon as its home stadium with three other clubs, as the country lacks adequate facilities outside Yangon and Mandalay.Relegated to MNL 2 at the end of the 2014 MNL season.
MNL Cup Grand Royal 2009 is the inaugural knock-out club football tournament of the Myanmar National League. The tournament, held at the Aung San Stadium and the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon between 16 May and 5 July 2009, was contested by all eight clubs of the newly formed professional league. Yadanabon FC finished on top, one point ahead of Yangon United FC in group stage. On 5 July 2009, Yadanabon defeated Yangon United in the cup final on penalty shootout, to become the reigning champions of the league.
Saw Maung was a Burmese artist. He was the son of the artist Saya Aye (painter) (1872–1930), who in turn was an apprentice of Saya Chone (1866–1917), a young Royal Artist under King Thibaw. Eleven out of the twelve member associations of the ASEAN Football Federation took part in the tournament featuring two groups of five and six teams.
