Jiangsu, is an eastern-central coastal province of the People's Republic of China. It is one of the leading provinces in finance, education, technology, and tourism, with its capital in Nanjing. Jiangsu is the third smallest, but the fifth most populous and the most densely populated of the 23 provinces of the People's Republic of China. Jiangsu has the highest GDP per capita of Chinese provinces and second-highest GDP of Chinese provinces, after Guangdong. Jiangsu borders Shandong in the north, Anhui to the west, and Zhejiang and Shanghai to the south. Jiangsu has a coastline of over 1,000 kilometres (620 mi) along the Yellow Sea, and the Yangtze River passes through the southern part of the province.
Lake Tai, Lake Taihu, or Taihu literally the Great Lake, rest in the Yangtze Delta plain, is one of the largest freshwater lakes in China. The lake belongs to Jiangsu and the southern shore forms its border with Zhejiang. With an area of 2,250 square kilometers (869 sq mi) and an average depth of 2 meters (6.6 ft), it is the third-largest freshwater lake in China, after Poyang and Dongting. The lake houses about 90 islands, ranging in size from a few square meters to several square kilometers.
Wu refers to a region in China whose core area is around Lake Tai in Jiangnan. The Wu region was historically part of the ancient Yang Province in southeastern China. The name "Wu" came from the names of several historical kingdoms based in that area.
Jiangnan or Jiang Nan is a geographic area in China referring to lands immediately to the south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, including the southern part of its delta. The region encompasses the city of Shanghai, the southern part of Jiangsu Province, the entire Zhejiang Province, the southeastern part of Anhui Province, the northern part of Jiangxi and Fujian Provinces. The most important cities in the area are Shanghai, Anqing, Changzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Ningbo, Shaoxing, Suzhou, Wuxi, Zhenjiang and Fuzhou.

Yangcheng Lake is a freshwater lake about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) northeast of the city of Suzhou in Jiangsu Province, China. It is the most famous area of origin for the Chinese mitten crabs which are considered a delicacy.
Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge is a 43,890 acre (180 km²) National Wildlife Refuge primarily in southwestern Williamson County, but with small extensions into adjacent eastern Jackson and northeastern Union counties of southern Illinois, in the United States. Its land and water contain a wide diversity of flora and fauna. It centers on Crab Orchard Lake. Major habitat types on the refuge include hardwood forest, agricultural land, grazing units, brushland, wetlands, and lakes. Other major bodies of water on the refuge are Devil's Kitchen Lake and Little Grassy Lake.
The Gate to the East, also known as the Gate of the Orient, is the current tallest building in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. It is intended to be a symbol of a gateway to the city, that emphasizes the city's continuing significance in modern China. With a height of 301.8 metres (990 ft), the building is located in the heart of Suzhou's China–Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) district. Construction began in 2004 and was completed in 2016 at a cost of $700 million USD. Its location precisely indicates the intersection of the historical east-west-axis of Suzhou Old Town with the west bank of Jinji Lake.
The Yangtze giant softshell turtle, also known as the Red River giant softshell turtle, the Shanghai softshell turtle, the speckled softshell turtle, and Swinhoe's softshell turtle, is an extremely rare species of turtle in the family Trionychidae. The species is endemic to eastern and southern China and northern Vietnam. Only three living individuals are known, one in China (captive) and two in Vietnam (wild), following the deaths of a wild individual in Vietnam in January 2016 and a captive individual in China in 2019, and it is listed as critically endangered in the IUCN Red List. It may be the largest living freshwater turtle in the world. The female of the last breeding pair died at Suzhou Zoo in China in April 2019, making the species functionally extinct unless a wild female is found.
Suzhou Creek, also called Wusong River, is a river that passes through the Shanghai city center. It is named after the neighbouring city of Suzhou, Jiangsu, the predominant settlement in this area prior to the rise of Shanghai as a metropolis.
Tan Shaoguang was a military leader of the Taiping Rebellion. During his military tenure he was known as the King of Mu (慕王). As a young soldier he joined the Jintian Uprising. After several years he was promoted to general, and led the Taiping forces to many military victories. He was awarded the E An in 1861. He was murdered by traitors after an interrogation in 1863.
Suzhou Ferris Wheel is a 120-metre (394 ft) tall giant Ferris wheel on the east bank of Jinji Lake in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. It has 60 passenger cabins, a maximum capacity of 300 passengers, and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete each revolution.
Shajiabang is a town in Changshu, Suzhou, China; a tourist village located adjacent to Yangcheng Lake in Jiangsu Province, China. There is a scenic area in the town named Shajiabang Resort.
Jinji Lake is a small fresh water lake located in the central part of Suzhou Industrial Park, Jiangsu, China. It occupies an area of 7.18 square kilometers and its average depth is about 2.5 to 3 meters. There are two man-made islands in the lake.
Dongfangzhimen Station is a station of Line 1, Suzhou Rail Transit. The station is located in Suzhou Industrial Park of Suzhou, near the Gate to the East skyscraper, which is positioned at the intersection of the historical East-West-axis of Suzhou Old Town with the West bank of Jinji Lake. The station has been in use since April 28, 2012, the same time of the preoperation of Line 1.
Line 5 is a planned west-east line of Suzhou Rail Transit. Construction is expected to finish in 2021, and the line will be 49.5 kilometers long. Its western terminus will be at Zhenhu Road Station in the Suzhou New District, with its eastern terminus at Yinshan Lake Station in Suzhou Industrial Park.
Suzhou International Financial Square, is a 92-floor, 452-meter skyscraper in the Industrial Park, Suzhou, Jiangsu, located to the east of Jinji Lake. It is a multi-purpose building which includes apartments, hotels and offices.
Suzhou Zhongnan Center is a mega-tall skyscraper on hold in SIP, Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. The building will be 729 metres (2,391.7 ft) tall. Suzhou Center Plaza is located in the Central Business District of Suzhou, to the west of Jinji Lake. The building is a part of large urban development project, Suzhou Industrial Park, and the estimated cost of the plaza is 28.5 billion yuan.
