Youssaf El Marnissi (born February 2, 1976 in Al Hoceima) is a Moroccan racing driver.

Al Hoceima Place in Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, Morocco

Al Hoceima is a riffian city in the north of Morocco, on the northern edge of the Rif Mountains and on the Mediterranean coast. It is the capital city of the Al Hoceima Province. It is situated in the territory of the Ait Waryagher and Ibeqquyen tribes of the Rif region, who speak a Riffian variety of the Berber language locally called Tmaziɣt (Tmazight). The city is a known tourists' destination despite its small size. It has a population of about 60,000 to 90,000. The inhabitants of the city speak Berber (Tarifit).

Career

El Marnissi competed in the Moroccan Circuit Racing Championship between 2007 and 2009. [1]

El Marnissi, along with compatriots Ismaïl Sbaï and Larbi Tadlaoui, was due to compete in the 2010 FIA WTCC Race of Morocco, his home round of the World Touring Car Championship, driving a Chevrolet Lacetti for Maurer Motorsport. However, El Marnissi crashed during the Friday testing session at the track and received damage that was not possible for his team to fix before the races on Sunday. He participated with Ismail Sbail and larbi tadlaoui at the Trofeo Maserati in 2012 and earned a place on the podium at the meeting of 20 May in its first appearance, a 3rd place for the Moroccan.

Ismaïl Sbaï is a Moroccan racing driver who has competed in the World Touring Car Championship.

The 2010 FIA WTCC Race of Morocco was the second round of the 2010 World Touring Car Championship season and the second running of the FIA WTCC Race of Morocco. It was held at the Marrakech Street Circuit in Marrakech, Morocco on 2 May 2010. The two races were won by Gabriele Tarquini for SR-Sport and Andy Priaulx for BMW Team RBM, but both races were heavily affected by safety car periods.

World Touring Car Championship auto racing championship held worldwide

The FIA World Touring Car Championship was an international touring car championship promoted by Eurosport Events and sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). It has had several different incarnations, including a single season in 1987 as the World Touring Car Championship and most recently a world championship (WTCC) that has run between 2005 and 2017. Following the 2017 season, an agreement was reached for the FIA WTCC to become FIA WTCR and use the TCR technical regulations.

2010 World Touring Car Championship

The 2010 World Touring Car Championship season was the seventh season of the FIA World Touring Car Championship, and the sixth since its 2005 return. It began with the Race of Brazil at Curitiba on 7 March and ended with the Guia Race of Macau at the Guia Circuit on 21 November, after twenty-two races at eleven events. The championship was open to both Super 2000 and Diesel 2000 cars.
