Success story
The debut album "Starp tevi un mani" (“Between you and me”) released in December, 2003 was a huge success. The first edition was sold out quickly due to their great popularity and the media attention. The bands interviews appeared in dozens of the magazines, Latvian dailies. Because of this success Z-Scars has definitely become one of the most popular rock bands in Latvia.

Single "Tu tuvojies sev" (“You approach yourself”) released in the summer, 2003 - sold out. Song "Ja tu esi viens" (“If you are alone”) – 1st. place in common Latvian music top, the summer of 2003. Single "Tu tuvojies sev" (“You approach yourself”) was specifically written as the theme song for the documentary “Found in America”/"Atrasts Amerikā" (also produced by Avantis). Both gained tremendous popularity in the summer of 2003.
Z-Scars second album "Pasakas un reklāmas" ("Tales and advertisements") released in June, 2005. This album style is harder than previous.
On 30 May 2008 Z-Scars presented their third album "Tieši sirdī//Прямо в сердце" ("Directly in the heart"), which is in Latvian, Russian and English.
Six singles already are playing on the radio - "Cauri pilsētai" (Through city), "Trīs vārdi" (Three words), "Izģērbies" (Take off your clothes), "Way back home", "Ziemassvētku sapņi" (Christmas dreams) and "Nebaidies un viss" (Don't be afraid and that's all). They 2 songs have been played on the Russian radio with good results on the top.
Prāta Vētra, known internationally as Brainstorm, is a Latvian pop/rock band. The band became popular internationally in 2000 when they finished third in the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 with the song "My Star".
Zodiac was a space disco music band that existed in the 1980s in Latvia, then a part of Soviet Union. The band was extremely popular in the Soviet Union and has been credited by critics as the Soviet answer to the French band Space who were popular at the time.

The song was performed by the group Cosmos. The Latvian broadcaster Latvijas Televīzija (LTV) organised the national final Eirodziesma 2006 in order to select the Latvian entry for the 2006 contest in Athens, Greece. Twenty songs were selected to compete in the national final, which consisted of three shows: two semi-finals and a final. In the semi-finals on 4 and 11 February 2006, five entries were selected to advance from each show: three entries selected based on a public televote and two entries selected by a five-member jury panel. Ten songs ultimately qualified to compete in the final on 11 March 2006 where two rounds of public voting selected "I Hear Your Heart" performed by Cosmos as the winner.
Latvia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song "The War Is Not Over" written by Mārtiņš Freimanis. The song was performed by Walters and Kazha. Songwriter Mārtiņš Freimanis represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 as part of the group F.L.Y. with the song "Hello from Mars" where they placed twenty-fourth in the competition. The Latvian broadcaster Latvijas Televīzija (LTV) organised the national final Eirodziesma 2005 in order to select the Latvian entry for the 2005 contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. Twenty songs were selected to compete in the national final, which consisted of three shows: two semi-finals and a final. In the semi-finals on 29 January and 5 February 2005, five entries were selected to advance from each show: three entries selected based on a public televote and two entries selected by a jury panel. Ten songs ultimately qualified to compete in the final on 26 February 2005 where two rounds of public voting selected "The War Is Not Over" performed by Valters and Kaža as the winner.
Lauris Reiniks is an award-winning Latvian pop music singer, songwriter, television host, and actor. Lauris has graduated from Jelgava Music college, studied, although never graduated, communication studies at the University of Latvia and trained as an actor in Los Angeles, California. He has released 9 solo albums and singles in 11 languages. As a composer and recording artist Lauris Reiniks has received more than 20 National Latvian awards and has gained international recognition in the Baltic states. Lauris Reiniks is also the Season 1 winner of Latvian "Dancing with the Stars" show. The millions of views of his music videos on YouTube has unofficially made him a "King of YouTube" in Latvia.
Satellites LV, formerly known as The Satellites in their early rock period (1996–1999), is a Latvian musical group formed in 1996 in Riga, Latvia. The core members of The Satellites are brothers Janis and Edgars Zilde. Other projects and groups related to Satellites LV include Kuba, Mofo, Raadio, Autobuss Debesis, Stāvi, the experimental solo album of Janis Zilde and Augusts IV, the solo EP by Edgars Zilde.

The Latvian broadcaster Latvijas Televīzija (LTV) organised the national final Eirodziesma 2011 in order to select the Latvian entry for the 2011 contest in Düsseldorf, Germany. Twenty songs were selected to compete in the national final, which consisted of four shows: two heats, one Second Chance round and a final. In the heats, five entries were selected to advance from each show: three entries selected based on a public televote and two entries selected by a seven-member jury panel. In the Second Chance round, two entries were selected to advance: one selected based on a public vote and one selected by the jury. Twelve songs ultimately qualified to compete in the final on 26 February 2011 where two rounds of voting by the public and jury selected "Angel in Disguise" performed by Musiqq as the winner.
Musiqq is a Latvian pop music duo from Liepāja formed by Marats Ogļezņevs and Emīls Balceris. The duo first gained exposure in June 2009 with the release of their first single “Klimata kontrole”("Climate control"), but on October 1 their second single "Abrakadabra" came out, which was a radio hit in Latvia and "SEB Musical Bank 2009" winner. Their debut album "Šī ir tikai mūzika"("This is just music") was released in March 2010, which included radio hits such as "Abrakadabra", "Dzimšanas diena" ("Birthday") and "Klimata kontrole". Both singers were awarded as "Gada Liepājnieks"("Liepajnieks of the year" is a prize awarded for those, who have invested their time, effort and talent into making the city a better place) in nomination "'Music" and received three Copyright infinity prizes, because their songs are the most played on the radio, television and concerts. Musiqq represented Latvia in 2011 Eurovision Song Contest Düsseldorf with the song "Angel in Disguise".

Twenty songs were selected to compete in the national final, which consisted of three shows: two semi-finals and a final. In the semi-finals on 7 and 14 January 2012, five entries were selected to advance from each show. Ten songs ultimately qualified to compete in the final on 7 January 2012 where two rounds of voting by a public televote and a ten-member jury panel selected "Beautiful Song" performed by Anmary as the winner.
Fēlikss Ķiģelis is a Latvian rock musician. He was the founder and frontman of Liepāja's bands Tumsa and Melnā Princese. In 1999 he pursued a solo career. His father Ēriks Ķiģelis was a member of rock bands Līvi and Coprus.

Pa un par (On and About) is an album by the Latvian A cappella vocal group Cosmos, that was released on the UPE record label in 2005. The album features original and cover songs in Latvian and English. The recording is entirely vocal, with no instruments used in any of the arrangements.

Among the Suns is the debut English-language studio album by the Latvian pop/rock music group Brainstorm, released in May 1999 and reissue in July 2000, which was issued in the same year with the Latvian-language album Starp divām saulēm in the same title (1999), with the English version, well as their Latvian album Viss ir tieši tā kā tu vēlies. The album includes the songs featuring the English version of Under My Wing, Welcome To My Country was represented in the music video. The album was recorded at Denmark and Sweden and reached #13 the charts in Finland for over 15 weeks, number 42 in Belgium for two weeks and number 47 in Sweden for four weeks which became a minor-charting album. On July 14, 2000 the album was reissued which included a song My Star represented Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2000. It sold more than 80,000 copies in Europe
Miķelis Ļaksa, known professionally as Markus Riva, is a Latvian singer. He has released several albums, including the debut album Ticu (2009).

The Latvian broadcaster Latvijas Televīzija (LTV) organized the national final Supernova 2019 in order to select the Latvian entry for the 2019 contest in Tel Aviv, Israel. 16 songs were selected to compete in the national final, which consisted of three shows: two semi-finals and a final. In the semi-finals on 26 January and 2 February 2019, four entries were selected to advance from each show. Eight songs ultimately qualified to compete in the final on 16 February 2019 where a public televote and a five-member jury panel selected "That Night" performed by Carousel as the winner.

The Latvian broadcaster Latvijas Televīzija (LTV) organized the national final Supernova 2020 in order to select the Latvian entry for the 2020 contest in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Nine songs were selected to compete in the national final on 8 February 2020 where a public televote exclusively selected "Still Breathing" performed by Samanta Tīna as the winner.
