Øyvind Stene

Øyvind Stene (born 18 November 1947) is a Norwegian engineer and businessperson.

He was born in Førde, and took an education in civil engineering. From 1973 to 2000 he worked mainly as a consultant, including a period in Zambia for the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation between 1978 and 1979, and a period as CEO of Blom ASA from 1996 to 1998. From 1998 to 2000 he worked in Kjeld Rimberg & Co. From 2000 to 2006 he served as director of the Norwegian Coastal Administration. Upon the end of his term he became secretary general of the Norwegian Society for Rescue at Sea.^[1]

Førde is a municipality in the county of Sogn og Fjordane, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Sunnfjord. The administrative center is the town of Førde which in 2016 had 10,255 inhabitants. Other villages in Førde municipality include Bruland, Holsen, Moskog, and Haukedalen. The Øyrane area in the town of Førde is a large industrial/commercial area for the region. The European Route E39 highway goes through the municipality, and it passes by the lake Holsavatnet.

Sivilingeniør, not to be confused with civil engineer, is a legally protected Engineering title awarded by technical universities in Norway. To qualify for the title, a student must follow a structured study programme in technology and natural sciences of 5 years duration at a Norwegian university or university college. Previously it was also a degree in and of itself, and was considered by the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH) to be equivalent to a Master of Science degree. Although the name is cognate with the English term civil engineer, the meanings do not correspond in modern usage.

Zambia, officially the Republic of Zambia, is a landlocked country in south-central Africa. It neighbours the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the north, Tanzania to the north-east, Malawi to the east, Mozambique to the southeast, Zimbabwe and Botswana to the south, Namibia to the southwest, and Angola to the west. The Nordland Line is a 729-kilometer (453 mi) railway line between Trondheim and Bodø, Norway. It is the longest in Norway and lacks electrification. The route runs through the counties of Trøndelag and Nordland, carrying a combination of commuter, long-haul passenger and freight trains. From Trondheim Central Station to Steinkjer Station the line is most heavily used, with hourly services by the Trøndelag Commuter Rail. There are three branch lines—the Stavne–Leangen Line at Leangen Station, the Meråker Line at Hell Station and the Namsos Line at Grong Station.

Øyvind Rimbereid is a Norwegian author and composer of lyric poetry. He has worked as an instructor at Skrivekunstakademiet in Bergen. Rimbereid holds a cand. philol. degree from the University of Bergen with high marks in Nordic languages and literature. He won the Brage Prize 2008 for his poetry collection Herbarium.

The Hell–Sunnan Line is a 105-kilometer-long (65 mi) railway line between Hell, Stjørdal and Sunnan, Steinkjer in Nord-Trøndelag, Norway. The name is no longer in official use and the line is now considered part of the Nordland Line. The Hell–Sunnan Line branches from the Meråker Line at Hell and runs on the east shore of the Trondheimsfjord passing through the municipalities of Stjørdal, Levanger, Verdal, Inderøy and Steinkjer.
