Local elections were held in East Timor in 2004 and 2005 to elect for Village Chiefs (Chefe do Suco) and delegates for Village Councils (Conselho do Suco) in 442 sucos (villages). It included the election of Hamlet Chiefs (Chefe do Aldeia) in aldeias (communities). [1]

The suco of Tutuala comprised four hamlets (aldeia): Ioro, Pitileti, Tchailoro, and Vero. The main Fataluku language areas of the country are in Tutuala, as well as Lautem and Fuiloro.

Local elections were held in East Timor on 29 October 2016 for the first round and on 13 November 2016 for the second round to elect for Village Chiefs and delegates for Village Councils in 442 sucos (villages). It included the election of Hamlet Chiefs in 2,225 aldeias (communities). Elected officials will serve a seven-year term.
