The 2017 Hong Kong Tennis Open was a professional tennis tournament played on hard courts. It was the eighth edition of the tournament, and part of the 2017 WTA Tour. It took place in Victoria Park, Hong Kong, from October 9 to 15.

Caroline Wozniacki was the defending champion and successfully defended her title, defeating Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the final, 6–0, 7–5. This marked Wozniacki's first title of 2017 and snapped a six-match losing streak in tournament finals.

Naomi Osaka defeated Daria Kasatkina in the final, 6–3, 6–2 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2018 Indian Wells Masters. It was her first WTA Tour title. This was the first time two players under 21 had contested the final since Kim Clijsters and Serena Williams in 2001.
