Al Ahly Handball Club is one of Al Ahly Sporting Club's sections that represent the club in Egypt as well as in international handball competitions. Al Ahly's Handball team was founded in 1959. The Al Ahly handball team has participated in the Egyptian Handball League since the beginning in 1960s until the present. The Championship was played under the name of the Republic League. The first championship win for the Al Ahly team in the Egyptian Handball League was in 1968 and 1969. The Al Ahly Handball Club has won the most titles in the league, 23 of which were gold medals. The Qatar Handball Association (QHA) is the governing body of handball and beach handball in Qatar. QHA is affiliated to the Asian Handball Federation (AHF), Qatar Olympic Committee and International Handball Federation (IHF) since 1978.

The 2019 North American and the Caribbean Senior Club Championship was the first edition of the North American and the Caribbean Senior Club Championship which is a qualifying tournament for the 2019 IHF Super Globe. It was held in Lake Placid, United States at the United States Olympic Training Center from 9 to 12 May 2019.

The 2019 IHF Super Globe was the thirteenth edition of the IHF Super Globe, a yearly club world championship in handball organised by the International Handball Federation (IHF). The tournament was held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia from 27 to 31 August 2019.

IHF Womens Super Globe

The Super Globe is a handball competition contested between the champion clubs from continental confederations.

The 2019 Asian Women's Club League Handball Championship was the 4th edition of the Asian Women's Club League Handball Championship held from 16 to 22 June 2019 at Almaty, Kazakhstan under the aegis of Asian Handball Federation. It was third time in history that championship was organised in Kazakhstan by the Kazakhstan Handball Federation. It also acts as the qualification tournament for the 2019 IHF Women's Super Globe with one quota place.

2020 IHF Super Globe

The 2020 IHF Super Globe would have been the 14th edition of the IHF Super Globe, a yearly club world championship in handball organised by the International Handball Federation (IHF). The tournament was scheduled to be held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

‌The 2021 IHF Super Globe will be 15th edition of the yearly club world championship in handball scheduled to be held from 4 to 10 October 2021 at Dammam, Saudi Arabia under the aegis of International Handball Federation (IHF). It will be the second time in history that the event will be organised by the Saudi Arabian Handball Federation.
