2022 European Women's Handball Championship qualification

This article describes the qualification for the 2022 European Women's Handball Championship and inaugural Women's EHF Euro Cup.

Contents

Qualification system

32 teams registered for participation and competed for twelve places at the final tournament in two distinct qualification phases. The group winners of phase 1 advanced to phase 2. The 24 teams were then divided into six groups of four teams with the top two teams of each group qualifying for the final tournament.

Qualification phase 1

This article describes the qualification process for the EHF EURO 2024 and EHF Euro Cup. In total 32 teams competed for 20 places at the final tournament, while 4 teams contested the EHF Euro Cup.

The 2021–22 EHF Champions League group stage was played between 15 September 2021 and 10 March 2022 to determine the ten teams advancing to the knockout stage of the 2021–22 EHF Champions League.

The European qualification for the 2023 World Men's Handball Championship determined nine European contestants at the final tournament, which joined six already qualified teams: Sweden and Poland, as co-hosts, Denmark, as title holder, and three best ranked teams at 2022 European Men's Handball Championship excluding Sweden, Poland and Denmark.
