The 2023 Summit League men's basketball Tournament is the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Summit League for the 2022-23 season. All tournament games will be played at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, from March 3-7, 2023. [1]

Seeds

All ten conference teams will participate in the tournament following a change announced before the season began. [2] This will be the first year that St. Thomas will participate in a Division I conference tournament in any sport. Teams are seeded by record within the conference, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. The tiebreakers operate in the following order:

  1. Head-to-head record
  2. Record against the top-seeded team not involved in the tie, going down through the standings until the tie is broken

If a team that is not eligible for the NCAA Tournament wins the Summit League Tournament, the conference's automatic bid goes to the highest seeded postseason eligible team. [3]

The 2021–22 Summit League women's basketball season is scheduled to begin with practices in October 2021 followed by the 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's basketball season in November 2021. The conference is scheduled to begin in December 2021. The 2022 Big South Conference men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Big South Conference for the 2021–22 season. It was held from March 2–6, 2022, with all tournament games played at the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina. This was the first time since the 2016 edition that the tournament was held at a single neutral site location. The tournament winner, Longwood, received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The defending champions were the Winthrop Eagles.

The 2022 Northeast Conference men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Northeast Conference (NEC) for the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Denver Pioneers were the defending champions after no tournament was held in 2020. Denver were champions in 2019. Denver successfully defended their title, defeating Oral Roberts in the final in a penalty shoot-out. The tournament win was Denver's seventh as a member of the conference, and the title was the fourth for head coach Jamie Franks. Denver has now won seven of the past eight Summit League tournaments. As tournament champions, Denver earned the Summit League's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament.

The 2022–23 North Dakota State Bison men's basketball team represented North Dakota State University during the 2022-23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bison, led by ninth year head coach David Richman, played their home games at the Scheels Center, as members of the Summit League.
The Bison went into the Summit League tournament as the number 3 seed. They beat South Dakota and South Dakota State before falling to Oral Roberts in the championship game.

The 2010 North Dakota State Bison women's soccer team represented North Dakota State University during the 2010 NCAA Division I women's soccer season. The Bison play their conference games in the Summit League.
NDSU made the Summit League tournament tied for the second seed. The Bison beat third-seeded South Dakota State in the semifinals and then beat fourth-seeded Western Illinois to win the Summit League championship. In the NCAA tournament the Bison fell to 9th ranked Texas A&M in penalties. This was the program's first NCAA tournament appearance since entering Division I.

The 2022-23 Summit League men's basketball season started non-conference play on November 7, 2022, and began conference play on December 19, 2022. The regular season will end on February 25, 2023, and will set up the 2023 Summit League men's basketball tournament from March 3 to March 7, 2023.
Oral Roberts finished league play with a perfect 18-0 record, the second time that has happened in the Summit League's history and second year in a row a team has finished with a perfect league record . In the postseason, Oral Roberts made the 2023 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament as a 12 seed. They lost to Duke in the first round.

The 2023 ASUN men's basketball tournament was the conference postseason tournament for the ASUN Conference. The tournament was the 44th year the league has conducted a postseason tournament. The tournament was held February 27–March 5 at campus sites of the higher seeds. The winner, Kennesaw State, received the conference's automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.

The 2023 Summit League baseball tournament took place from May 24 through 27, 2023. The top four out of seven teams in the conference's regular season will meet in the double-elimination tournament held at Newman Outdoor Field on the campus of North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota. The defending champion was Oral Roberts, who successfully defended their title and earned the Summit League's automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.
