The 2026 Women's European Volleyball Championship will be the 34th edition of the Women's European Volleyball Championship, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, CEV. For the fourth time, the EuroVolley will be held in four countries. Turkey are the defending champions.

Year change

On 22 June 2023, the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) announced that, starting in 2026, all continental competitions would be played in even-numbered years, rather than odd-numbered. [1]

Host selection

Czech Republic was announced as the first co-host on 6 December 2023, with games at a new arena in Brno, [5] [6] while Turkey was selected to host the final stage on 26 September 2023, with games in Ankara. [7] [8] On 6 March 2024, Sweden became the third host with games to take place at the Scandinavium in Gothenburg. [9] [10] [11] Finally, on 12 March 2024, Azerbaijan became the fourth host with one group to be held in the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku. [12] [13]

Venues

Each venue will host a group, while Ankara and Brno will organise the knockout stage, with Ankara hosting the semi-finals and final, just as in 2019.

The FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship is an international women's club volleyball competition organised by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The competition was first contested in 1991 in Brazil. It was not held between 1995 and 2009, but since 2010, the competition has been held every year, and has been hosted by Qatar, Switzerland, the Philippines, Japan, China and Turkey. The competition was held in Zhejiang Province of China in 2018 and 2019. After the 2020 championship was cancelled due to corona virus pandemic, the competition was held in Turkey in 2021.

The Sweden men's national under-19 volleyball team represents Sweden in international men's volleyball competitions and friendly matches under the age 19 and it is ruled by the Swedish Volleyball Federation body that is an affiliate of the Federation of International Volleyball FIVB and also part of the European Volleyball Confederation CEV.

The 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship features 24 teams. Three places are allocated to the hosts, the Netherlands and Poland, and the current titleholder, Serbia. Ten places were to be allocated to the top two teams from each of the 2021 Continental Championships that have not yet qualified as host or titleholder. Remaining places were to be allocated to the top eleven teams in the FIVB World Ranking that have not yet qualified through the first three criteria. Following the cancellation of the 2021 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship, AVC allocated two quota spots to China and Japan, the top two teams in the AVC Continental Ranking.

İpar Özay Kurt is a Turkish volleyball player. She played for Fenerbahçe as wing spiker with jersey number 16 and now plays for Stanford University. She is 1.86 m tall at 69 kg (152 lb).

The 2020 Men's U20 Volleyball European Championship was the 27th edition of the Men's Junior European Volleyball Championship, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the CEV. The tournament was held in Brno and Kuřim, Czech Republic from 26 September to 4 October 2020. The top two teams of the tournament qualified for the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship as the CEV representatives. But with runners-up Italy hosting the 2021 U21 World Championship together with Bulgaria, 3rd place Belgium joined the field for the 2021 U21 World Championship as well.

The 2022 Girls' Youth European Volleyball Championship was the 15th edition of the Girls' Youth European Volleyball Championship, a biennial international volleyball tournament organised by the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) the girls' under-17 national teams of Europe. The tournament was held in Czech Republic from 16 to 24 July 2022.

The top three teams of the tournament qualified for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship as the CEV representative, except Serbia who had already qualified as the defending world champions.

The 2022 Men's U20 Volleyball European Championship is the 28th edition of the Men's Junior European Volleyball Championship, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the CEV. The tournament is currently held in Montesilvano and Vasto, Italy from 17 to 25 September 2022. The top two teams of the tournament qualified for the 2023 FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship as the CEV representatives.

The top three teams of the tournament qualified for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship as the CEV representatives, except Italy who had already qualified as the defending world champions.

The 2026 European Women's Handball Championship bidding process entails the bids for the 2026 European Women's Handball Championship. The winners were originally Russia but it was taken away from them due to the war in Ukraine. The eventual winners were Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Turkey.
