Africa Digital Awards [1] is an annual digital event that celebrates, recognizes and rewards digital players in Africa. The Awards recognize digital creators and developers while celebrating users in digital finance, social media, Mobile, Agritech, Media, Telecommunications, esports etc. [2] [3] [4] [5]

Social media are interactive computer-mediated technologies that facilitate the creation and sharing of information, ideas, career interests and other forms of expression via virtual communities and networks. The variety of stand-alone and built-in social media services currently available introduces challenges of definition; however, there are some common features:

  1. Social media are interactive Web 2.0 Internet-based applications.
  2. User-generated content, such as text posts or comments, digital photos or videos, and data generated through all online interactions, is the lifeblood of social media.
  3. Users create service-specific profiles and identities for the website or app that are designed and maintained by the social media organization.
  4. Social media facilitate the development of online social networks by connecting a user's profile with those of other individuals or groups.

Agritech is the use of technology in agriculture, horticulture, and aquaculture with the aim of improving yield, efficiency, and profitability. Agritech can be products, services or applications derived from agriculture that improve various input/output processes.

Esports form of competition that is facilitated by electronic systems, particularly video games

Esports is a form of competition using video games. Esports often takes the form of organized, multiplayer video game competitions, particularly between professional players, individually or as teams. Although organized online and offline competitions have long been a part of video game culture, these were largely between amateurs until the late 2000s, when participation by professional gamers and spectatorship in these events through live streaming saw a large surge in popularity. By the 2010s, esports was a significant factor in the video game industry, with many game developers actively designing toward a professional esports subculture.

Peace Hyde British - Ghanaian media personality and social activist

Peace Hyde is a British Ghanaian education activist, media entrepreneur and motivational speaker. She is the founder of Aim Higher Africa, a not for profit improving the quality of education in impoverished communities across Africa. In 2018, she was shortlisted among 200 leaders as part of the Obama Foundation Africa Leaders program and in 2019, was awarded the African Social Impact award at the House of Parliament, House of Commons in the UK. She is also the Head of digital media and partnerships and West African correspondent for leading business magazine Forbes Africa.

The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards was established in 2000 by Mascot to celebrate Ghanaian musicians. The awards are presented annually, and are broadcast live on GH One. The awards ceremony features performances by artists.

Naa Ashorkor Ghanaian actress

Naa Ashorkor also known as Nisirine Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku, is a Ghanaian actress and a media personality. She's known for starring in "ThePerfect Picture" (2009), by Shirley Frimpong-Manso and Iroko TV's Poisoned Bait - a movie directed by Leila Djansi. She won the Award for Best Actress in 2010 at the African Movie Academy awards for her role played in "The Perfect Picture" (2009). Naa Ashorkor also starred alongside Yvonne Okoro, Joselyn Dumas, John Dumelo.

Ato Ulzen-Appiah is a social entrepreneur, consultant, blogger and director of the GhanaThink Foundation who was named African Male Youth of the Year 2018. He is a co-founder of Barcamp Ghana and Junior Camp Ghana which champions the youth to take up volunteer roles in Ghana. He is an ardent social media user and mentors a lot of the youth.

Kobi Hemaa Osisiadan

Kobi Hemaa Osisiadan-Bekoe, is a Ghanaian, female entrepreneur, TV Presenter and communication specialist. She has had a career in the media industry for over ten years She is currently the head of corporate communication at Ghana Post Company Limited and the founder of Angeles Foundation an agency which focuses on boy-child empowerment and entrepreneurial skills.

Postal codes were adopted in Ghana on October 18, 2017, following the launch of the National Digital Address System. As a joint venture between Ghana Post and Vokacom Ltd as GhanaPost GPS, the Digital Address System assigned postal codes and unique addresses to every square in Ghana.

Ayisha Fuseini is Ghanaian social entrepreneur. She established Asheba Enterprise in 2012 in Ghana, working with over 600 women in rural communities in Tamale; Northern region. Starting from a humble beginning from home, she established a processing center that reduces workload of the women she works with. Her enterprise also provides financial services to support women in the Shea business. Her company produces beauty products such as soap, body creams and other products using high quality shea butter. She is also a supplier of shea butter to The Body Shop chain.

Kwame A. A Opoku is a Ghanaian serial Entrepreneur and public speaker who is the Founder and CEO of Reset Global People.
