Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice is a children's hospice run as registered charity offering palliative care and support to families who have a child or young person with a shortened life expectancy and complex medical needs. [2] [3] Bluebell Wood provides support to the whole family, [4] both at their hospice in Rotherham, and in families’ own homes.

Bluebell Wood is located in North Anston, Rotherham and their services cover all of South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire and parts of North Lincolnshire. [5]

The North Midlands is a loosely defined area of England. A statistical definition, first defined in 1881, included the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland as part of the North Midlands region. Paul David Hudson is an English weather presenter for BBC Yorkshire and BBC Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Hudson was born and raised in Keighley, West Yorkshire. He was made an Honorary Fellow of Bradford College in 2014.

The Sheffield Half Marathon is an annual half marathon held in Sheffield, England. It was started as a marathon in 1929 for two years, with a half marathon run at the same time. It restarted again 1946 after the Second World War. In 2003 it was reduced to a half marathon and 3-kilometre fun run. Moving from Hillsborough in 1991, the race started and finished at Don Valley Stadium, the stadium where Jessica Ennis trained, until the stadium's closure was announced in 2013. 2012 Rotherham by-election

The Rotherham by-election was a by-election for the Parliament of the United Kingdom's House of Commons constituency of Rotherham. The by-election was caused by the resignation of its Member of Parliament Denis MacShane after the House of Commons Standards and Privileges Committee found that he had submitted 19 false invoices "plainly intended to deceive" the parliamentary expenses authority, an issue dating back to 2009 and a wider parliamentary expenses scandal in the UK. MacShane accepted the office of Steward and Bailiff of the Chiltern Hundreds on 5 November 2012, formally vacating his seat. The election took place on 29 November 2012, at the same time as by-elections in Croydon North and Middlesbrough which were caused by the deaths of the sitting MPs.

Jane Collins Brexit Party politician

Jane Maria Collins is a British politician and horse show-jumper, she sat as a Member of the European Parliament for the Yorkshire and the Humber region. She was elected in May 2014 as a member of the UK Independence Party in May 2014, but defected to the Brexit Party in 2019 in the last months of her membership of the European Parliament.

Sheffield City Region Combined Authority Local government body for South Yorkshire, England

The Sheffield City Region Combined Authority is the combined authority for South Yorkshire in England, with powers over transport, economic development and regeneration. It covers a total area of 3484km² and is home to a population of 1.8 million. It includes the entirety of metropolitan county of South Yorkshire aswell as the North East Derbyshire District, and in addition to this the Derbyshire Dales District. Furthermore it includes the Bassetlaw non-metropolitan District, Chesterfield non-metropolitan and the Bolsover non-metropolitan District.
