Dividend is an extinct town in southwest Utah County, Utah, United States. The GNIS classifies it as a populated place. [1]

Utah County is a county in the U.S. state of Utah. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 516,564, thus making it Utah's second-most populous county. The county seat and largest city is Provo, which is the state's third-largest city.

A post office called Dividend was established in 1922, and remained in operation until 1951. [2] The community was so named in the expectation a nearby mine would pay dividends. By 1922, over one million dollars had been paid in dividends. [3]

A dividend is a payment made by a corporation to its shareholders, usually as a distribution of profits. When a corporation earns a profit or surplus, the corporation is able to re-invest the profit in the business and pay a proportion of the profit as a dividend to shareholders. Distribution to shareholders may be in cash or, if the corporation has a dividend reinvestment plan, the amount can be paid by the issue of further shares or share repurchase. When dividends are paid, shareholders typically must pay income taxes, and the corporation does not receive a corporate income tax deduction for the dividend payments.

Eagleview is a census-designated place (CDP) in Uwchlan Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,644 at the 2010 census. Conceptually, Eagleview was created as "... an old fashion town where you can work, live, shop, see your elders, and care for the young all in the same place." According to a Landsat imagery, the Eagleview shopping center represents a medium density development that generated 400 square feet more living space per acre per the source than lower density developments also shown in the same imagery. Stevens, in his book on a study of how to make communities safer in new urban developments uses Eagleview, along with Weatherstone, as sample data for comparing amount of green space for every acreage of development. The community was listed in volume 6 of the New Urban News as an example of this new type of housing development.
