The Downtown Millen Historic District is a 47 acres (19 ha) historic district in Millen, Georgia which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. It then included 44 contributing buildings, four contributing structures, and two contributing objects. [1]

Millen is a city in, and the county seat of, rural Jenkins County, Georgia, United States. The population was 3,120 at the 2010 census, down from 3,492 at the 2000 census and 3,988 at the 1980 census.

Approved cost of $65,000 was allowed for the site, building, and administration, under the Emergency Construction Program Act. [2]

Downtown Commercial Historic District (Muscatine, Iowa)

The Downtown Commercial Historic District in Muscatine, Iowa is a historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. At that time, it included 93 contributing buildings, one other contributing object, and 18 non-contributing buildings. The city of Muscatine was established as Bloomington in 1836. The original town was built on land that is generally flat along the Mississippi River. Residential areas were located on the surrounding hills. Commercial and industrial interests developed on the flatter land near the river. Muscatine's commercial and industrial center had developed in a 12-block area along Front Street, now Mississippi Drive, and 2nd Street between Pine Street and Mulberry Street by 1874. This area, represented by the Downtown Commercial Historic District, is the city's original commercial area. Within its boundaries is a large number of 19th-century commercial buildings, many of which were modified in the first half of the 20th century.

Downtown Perry Historic District

The Downtown Perry Historic District, also known as Uptown, is a nationally recognized historic district located in Perry, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. At the time of its nomination it contained 68 resources, which included 58 contributing buildings, one contributing site, and nine non-contributing buildings. The central business district is divided into three sections: the Triangle, Second Street above Willis Avenue, and South of Otley Avenue. The Triangle is public land where the Perry Carnegie Library Building is located. Second Street above Willis Avenue is a corridor of two-blocks north of the Triangle. It is where most of the professional offices, retail and entertainment businesses are located. The area south of Otley Avenue contains a cluster of businesses that is also located along Second Street for the most part. The businesses are associated with the automobile and light industrial operations. The first two sections are included in the historic district while the third was excluded because of its mixed land use and its lack of historic integrity from alterations and demolition.

Mason City Downtown Historic District

The Mason City Downtown Historic District is a nationally recognized historic district located in Mason City, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. At the time of its nomination it contained 93 resources, which included 63 contributing buildings, one contributing site, four objects, 22 non-contributing buildings, and three non-contributing objects. Platted in 1855, Mason City is a commercial and industrial center for north central Iowa. It was also a railroad center, but the tracks bypassed the central business district in order to serve the industries located on the north side of town and the wholesale enterprises on the south side. Central Park, a public square, was part of the city's original plat and is the contributing site.

Lander Downtown Historic District historic district in Wyoming, USA

The Lander Downtown Historic District comprises the commercial core of Lander, Wyoming. The district includes 16 buildings listed as contributing to the historic district, including a series of commercial buildings, the Noble Hotel, the grand Theatre and the Stockgrower's Bar. The Federal Building is included, and is individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places as well. Most date between 1890 and 1910. Most earlier buildings burned or were torn down and replaced by more permanent masonry structures.By 1910 an oil boom had begun in central Wyoming, providing an incentive to build substantial buildings. The district comprises most of the north side of Main Street between Second Street and Fourth Street, with three properties on the south side and one facing Lincoln Street at Third Street.

Nevada Downtown Historic District

Nevada Downtown Historic District is a nationally recognized historic district located in Nevada, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. At the time of its nomination it consisted of 39 resources, which included 33 contributing buildings and six non-contributing buildings. The district takes in the city's central business district. Its period of significance starts with the relocation of the railroad depot to the head of 6th Street in the 1870s and continues through the late 1920s, when the town undertook several projects in a spirit of civic boosterism. The buildings here are one to three stories tall and are all masonry construction. The architectural styles include popular styles from the period: Italianate, Queen Anne, Neoclassical, Prairie School, American Craftsman, and vernacular forms. They housed retail shops, hotels, banks, restaurants, fraternal halls, and a creamery.

The Red Oak Downtown Historic District is a nationally recognized historic district located in Red Oak, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016. At the time of its nomination it contained 104 resources, which included 73 contributing buildings, eight contributing objects, one contributing site, 15 non-contributing buildings, six non-contributing objects, and one non-contributing structure. The historic district covers most of the city's central business district. It is a flat area of land in an otherwise hilly region. The district is centered on Fountain Square, a public green space around which the town had been platted in 1857. A second public square was added in 1890 for the Montgomery County Courthouse after Red Oak won a special election to move the county seat from Frankfort.

Mayfield Downtown Commercial District

The Mayfield Downtown Commercial District is a historic district which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The listing was increased in 1996.
