The Downtown Montevallo Historic District in Montevallo, Alabama is a historic district which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.^[1] It included 30 contributing buildings and four non-contributing buildings.^[2]

It includes 555-925 Main, 710-745 Middle & 608 Valley Sts. in Montevallo. All but two of the Main and Middle ones are zero-lot-line buildings.^[2] It includes:

Bob Reid Ford/Montevallo Motors (c.1925), 555 Main St., a one-story commercial building with roof concealed by flat parapets on its front facade with two slightly raised intermediate steps, and stepped parapets on its side elevations; (see accompanying photo #6, left; photo #7)
Rogan's Store (c.1900), 600 Main St., a 2-story 2-part commercial block building, with roof by flat parapet and at its sides by stepped parapets on its sides; has a center pilaster and corner pilasters in its upper facade with intermediate corbelled parapet cap (photo #8, Right; Photo #9).
Alabama Power/McCulley's Grocery Store (c.1920), 603 Main St., 1-story 1-part commercial block building a parapet (Photo #1, left).^[2]
Maroney General Store/Klotzman's Ready to Wear (c.1925), 615 Main St., 1-story 1-part commercial block building with a shaped parapet and stepped parapets; "recessed storefront divided into three bays by two intermediate pillars, central entrance with transom flanked by splayed intermediate display windows and flanking flush outer display windows, continuous low tile bulkheads, tall transom area with central grouped transom window and outer double light transom windows; recessed panel at upper facade with corbelled parapet cap with central arched cap, thin corbelled band above transoms". IGA Grocery Store (c.1920), 635 Main St., 2-story 2-part commercial block building with a flat parapet and stepped parapets; 'storefront system with some modern replacement elements, 2 intermediate pillars support an iron lintel the spans the full width of the storefront, central entrance bay with off-center aluminum frame door with sidelight and historic 1-light transom, entrance at south end of southern storefront bay with a historic 1- light transom flanked by a fixed display window on a low brick bulkhead with a historic 1-light transom, historic single fixed display window to the north with a 1-light transom, double replacement synthetic windows at upper level of the facade; decorative corbelled brick parapet with drop pendants; single segmental arched window openings with infill at upper level and rear elevation; off-center entrance at rear elevation with modern steel door; painted brick facade and partial side walls, exposed brick at remainder of side walls and rear elevation set in common bond." It adjoins the University of Montevallo Historic District, which has three buildings continuing along in the Main Street corridor:

U.S. Post Office (c.1936), 35 Vine St. (at Main St.): brick one-story building with a hipped tile roof; its central entrance is a stone entablature surround, another(?) entrance has transom and sidelights, flanked to either side by single 12/12 steel double hung windows in rectangular openings; it has a decorative stone cornice with dentils and a stone water table (photos #18-19)^[2]
McCounnghy-Warnke House (c.1900), 36 Vine St., one-story frame house with a hipped shingle roof with cross gables^[2]
Bandy-Drapkin House (1915), 37 Vine St., a one-story frame house with a side gable composition shingle roof with angle bracketed eaves and central gable decorative dormer at its front slope, has polygonal bay windows (#20)^[2]

The Jefferson Intermediate School is a school building located at 938 Selden Street in Detroit, Michigan. It is also known as Jefferson Junior High School or Jefferson School. The school was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

The Shumway Block is a historic commercial building on 112-116 Main Street in Webster, Massachusetts. Built in 1887, it is a well-preserved local example of late Victorian commercial brick architecture, and has played a prominent role in the business economy of the Webster downtown's west end. The block was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Olmsted-Hixon-Albion Block is a historic commercial block at 1645-1659 Main Street in the South End of downtown Springfield, Massachusetts. The building is actually three separate 19th-century buildings that were conjoined by internal connections in 1929, making a good example of adaptive reuse of commercial architecture in the city. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Musgrove Block is a historic commercial building at 2 Main Street in the center of Andover, Massachusetts. The three story brick building was built in 1895 on the site of a former town green, and forms part of Andover's central Elm Square intersection. The building exhibits Romanesque Revival styling, featuring granite trim elements and ornate brick detailing. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Jefferson–Chalmers Historic Business District is a historic district located on East Jefferson Avenue between Eastlawn Street and Alter Road in Detroit, Michigan. The district is the only continuously intact commercial district remaining along East Jefferson Avenue, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

The Grand Hotel is a historic hotel in New Ulm, Minnesota, United States. The private, commercial structure was placed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) on June 21, 1990. The building is notable because of its association with the development of New Ulm's business district and as an example of Italianate architecture in a commercial building.

The Littleton Main Street is a historic district located along W. Main Street, from South Curtice Street, to South Sycamore Street in Littleton, Colorado. The district dates from 1890. The nineteenth century buildings are red pressed brick, many with stone foundations and trim. These buildings replaced smaller frame structures from the pioneer era and proclaimed the success of their builders through solid construction and application of exterior ornament.

The Tushiyah United Hebrew School, later known as the Scott Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church, is an educational building located at 609 East Kirby Street in Detroit, Michigan. This building, an important work of architect Isadore M. Lewis, was constructed as the Tushiyah United Hebrew School and served as the headquarters of the United Hebrew Schools of Detroit. It later served as the Scott Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church, the first mainline African-American Methodist Episcopal church in Detroit. Iron Mountain Central Historic District United States historic place

The Iron Mountain Central Historic District is a historic district, broadly located between Fleshiem and C Streets and between Iron Mountain and Stockbridge Avenues in Iron Mountain, Michigan. The district covers the city's central business district and adjacent areas. It is primarily commercial, but also contains the historic county courthouse complex, and school, library, and church buildings. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

The former Presque Isle National Bank building is a 19th-century commercial building at 422 Main Street in Presque Isle, Maine. Built in 1887, it is one of the most architecturally significant commercial buildings of northernmost Maine, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 for its architecture. It presently houses the Maine Farmers Exchange on the upper level, and retail stores below.

New Center Commercial Historic District United States historic place

The New Center Commercial Historic District is a commercial historic district located on Woodward Avenue between Baltimore Street and Grand Boulevard in Detroit, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

The Twin City Historic District in Twin City in Emanuel County, Georgia is a historic district which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

The Homestead Building, also known as the Martin Hotel, is a historic building located in Des Moines, Iowa, United States. Designed by the Des Moines architectural firm of Smith & Gage, it was built in two stages. The eastern one-third was completed in 1893 and the western two-thirds was completed in 1905. It is one of a few late nineteenth-century commercial/industrial buildings that remain in the downtown area. The building was built for James M. Pierce for his publishing operation, which included the Iowa Homestead, a pioneer publication of modern agricultural journalism. Prior to Pierce, the Iowa Homestead publisher was Henry Wallace, the father of Agriculture Secretary Henry C. Wallace, and grandfather of U.S. Vice President Henry A. Wallace. "Through the efforts of Pierce and Wallace the Iowa Homestead became known for its promotion of the rotation of crops, the use of better seed, the value of more and better livestock, the importance of an attractive home and a good home life, the value of farmers banding together to protect common interests, and the care of the soil and conservation of its resources."

Cobar Post Office is a heritage-listed post office at 47 Linsley Street, Cobar, New South Wales, Australia. It was, designed by James Barnet in 1885. It was added to the Australian Commonwealth Heritage List on 22 August 2012.

The Woodlawn Commercial Historic District, in Birmingham, Alabama, was listed on the National Register of Historic Districts in 1991. It is a 6 acres (2.4 ha) district which included 12 contributing buildings and four non-contributing buildings in an area around the junction of 1st Avenue North and 55th Place in Birmingham, at the center of the community of Woodlawn, Alabama, which for a time was a separate city before being absorbed into Birmingham. A much larger portion of the community, including all of this Commercial historic district and residential areas as well, was later listed on the National Register as Woodlawn Historic District.
