Career
Rogers turned professional at Ewood Park in May 1965 and made his First Division debut in Rovers' 3-2 defeat at Stoke City four months later.
He was Rovers' joint top scorer in 1967-68 and 1970-71 seasons. Rogers made 177 Appearances for Rovers and scored 39 goals in all competitions. In 2006, he was voted into the Rovers fans team of the decade (1960's). He was also shortlisted for a place in the greatest of all time team.
He made an ill-advised move to Charlton Athletic in an exchange deal involving Barry Endean in October 1971 and spent two injury hit seasons there. He retired from professional football at the end 1973-74 season aged just 27.
He made his international debut for the Republic of Ireland national football team on 22 November 1967 in a 2-1 away win over Czechoslovakia and went on to win a total of 19 international caps and scored 5 times.
His brother John played for Shelbourne F.C. in the 1970s.
Sir Robert Charlton is an English former footballer who played either as an attacking-midfielder, central-midfielder or left-winger. Widely considered as one of the greatest players of all time, he was a member of the England team that won the 1966 FIFA World Cup, the year he also won the Ballon d'Or. He finished second in the Ballon d'Or in 1967 and 1968. He played almost all of his club football at Manchester United, where he became renowned for his attacking instincts, his passing abilities from midfield and his ferocious long-range shot, as well as his fitness and stamina. He was cautioned only twice in his career; once against Argentina in the 1966 World Cup, and once in a league match against Chelsea. His elder brother Jack, who was also in the World Cup-winning team, was a former defender for Leeds United and international manager. With success at club and international level, he is one of nine players to have won the FIFA World Cup, the UEFA Champions League and the Ballon d'Or.
Christian Eduard Dailly is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a centre-back.
Maurice Edgar Setters was an English football player and manager. As a player, he made more than 400 appearances in the Football League for Exeter City, West Bromwich Albion, Manchester United, Stoke City, Coventry City and Charlton Athletic, and in the United Soccer Association with the Cleveland Stokers. Setters played in the left wing half position. As manager, he took charge of Doncaster Rovers and (briefly) Sheffield Wednesday, and spent several years as assistant manager of the Republic of Ireland.

Liam Tuohy was an Irish footballer and manager. During the 1950s and 1960s, Tuohy played as an outside left for Shamrock Rovers, Newcastle United, and the Republic of Ireland. In 1959, while playing for Ireland, Tuohy scored the first ever goal in the history of the European Championship. After retiring as a player, Tuohy became a coach and managed several clubs in the League of Ireland including Shamrock Rovers, Dundalk, and Shelbourne.
Liam Buckley, is an Irish former professional footballer and manager. He is currently the sporting director of Cork City. During his playing career he made two appearances for the Republic of Ireland national team.
