East Asia Tonight is a current flagship weekdays news programme on CNA that is airing every weekday between 6:00pm - 7:00pm (Singapore/Hong Kong time) starting 15 April 2024, providing a round-up of all the day's events in Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, North and South Korea, coverage of breaking news and international news in brief, as well as news analyses from CNA's correspondents around East Asia.

Originally, when the bulletin launched it was helmed behind the scenes by Editor Tan Yew Guan and was presented by Melissa Hyak. It was subsequently presented by a host of other presenters mainly Genevieve Woo & occasionally Timothy Go, Otelli Edwards etc. In 2011, the original East Asia Tonight Bulletin was merged with Southeast Asia Tonight to form Primetime Asia which in turn became the second incarnation of Asia Tonight in 2019.

It was then announced on 19 March 2024 as part of the CNA's 25th Anniversary celebrations that the East Asia Tonight Bulletin will be returning to CNA as a new 1-hour bulletin starting 15 April 2024 on every weekdays 6pm after a long 13-year absence. The revived bulletin will be mainly helmed by Otelli Edwards, with other presenters Dawn Tan, Jill Neubronner & Loke Wei Sue serving as relief presenters.
