The FIS Alpine Ski World Cup is the top international circuit of alpine skiing competitions, launched in 1966 by a group of ski racing friends and experts which included French journalist Serge Lang and the alpine ski team directors from France and the USA. It was soon backed by International Ski Federation president Marc Hodler during the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1966 at Portillo, Chile, and became an official FIS event in the spring of 1967 after the FIS Congress at Beirut, Lebanon.

The Tour de Ski is a Stage World Cup event in the FIS Cross-Country World Cup. Each Tour de Ski has consisted of six to nine stages, held during late December and early January in the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland. As of 2022, the prize money for the event amount to 770,000 Swiss francs, shared out on both men and women. Men's and women's events are held together on the same days, with the only difference being the distance skied.

The Nordic Opening is a cross-country skiing event held annually since the 2010–11 season in Ruka, Finland or Lillehammer, Norway. The Nordic Opening is a Stage World Cup event in the FIS Cross-Country World Cup, and are held as the first or second World Cup race weekend of the season. The inaugural Nordic Opening was held in 2010 and was originally named Ruka Triple. The editions of the mini-tour hosted in Lillehammer is also known as Lillehammer Triple. Each Nordic Opening consists of three stages; a sprint, an individual race and a pursuit. As of 2019, the prize money for the event amount to 240,000 Swiss francs, shared out on both men and women. Men's and women's events are held together on the same days, with the only difference being the distance skied.

The 2018 Nordic Opening or the third Lillehammer Triple was the 9th edition of the Nordic Opening, an annual cross-country skiing mini-tour event. The three-day event was the second competition round of the 2018–19 FIS Cross-Country World Cup.

The 2022–23 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup is the 44th World Cup season in ski jumping for men, the 26th official World Cup season in ski flying, and the 12th World Cup season for women. The men's season started in November in Wisła, Poland and will conclude in April in Planica, Slovenia. The women's season started also in Wisła and will conclude in March in Lahti, Finland.

The 2022–23 Tour de Ski was the 17th edition of the Tour de Ski and part of the 2022–23 FIS Cross-Country World Cup. The World Cup stage event began in Val Müstair, Switzerland on 31 December 2022 and concluded with the Final Climb stage in Val di Fiemme, Italy, on 8 January 2023. The tour started in Val Müstair for the third time. Johannes Høsflot Klæbo from Norway and Natalya Nepryayeva from Russia were the winners of previous edition. Nepryayeva couldn't defend her title, because of the decision of FIS council, after Russia and Belarus were suspended for this World cup season due to Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The Men's ski slopestyle competition at the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships 2023 was held on 26 and 28 February 2023.

The Men's snowboard big air competition at the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships 2023 will be held on 2 and 5 March 2023.

The Men's parallel slalom competition at the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships 2023 was held on 21 February 2023.
