Gilbane's Service Center Building is an historic automotive service station at 175-191 Pawtucket Avenue in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. It is an L-shaped structure, built of concrete blocks and finished in stucco. Its most prominent feature is a whimsical Art Deco tower, built up from one of the corners nearest the street in five stepped tiers. Details from the tower are repeated in the decoration of the roofline above the building's service bays. This building was built c. 1931, and is a second-phase automotive service station, one which offered repair services as well as fuel, and is one of the finest surviving examples of the form in the state. James Dennis House United States historic place

The James Dennis House is an historic house located at 3120 Pawtucket Avenue in East Providence, Rhode Island. This two-story wood-frame house was built sometime in the 1870s, and is a fine local example of Queen Anne Victorian style. Its most prominent features are a square tower with pyramidal roof, and a decorated porch that wraps around three sides. Although Pawtucket Avenue once had a significant number of such houses lining it, most have been demolished or significantly altered.

Jenks Park & Cogswell Tower United States historic place

Jenks Park is a city park of Central Falls, Rhode Island. The city's only large park, its development began in 1890 on land donated by Alvin Jenks. Its centerpiece is Cogswell Tower, designed by Pawtucket architect Albert H. Humes and built in 1904. A gift of Caroline Cogswell, the tower stands 18 feet (5.5 m) square and 70 feet (21 m) tall. It has been the symbol of the City of Central Falls since its construction. The tower is supported by a brick barrel vault resting atop the historic Dexter's Ledge, from which, during King Philip's War in 1676, Native American scouts saw the approach of Captain Michael Pierce, and a company of Plymouth soldiers from the heights. Pierce's forces were ambushed and nearly annihilated by the Native Americans in "Pierce's Fight" at a site along the Blackstone River on March 26, 1676, where Pierce Park now stands.

South Central Falls Historic District United States historic place

The South Central Falls Historic District is a historic district in Central Falls, Rhode Island. It is a predominantly residential area, densely populated, which was developed most heavily in the late 19th century. It is bounded roughly by Broad Street to the east, the Pawtucket city line to the south, Dexter Street to the west, and Rand Street and Jenks Park to the north. It has 377 contributing buildings, most of which were built before 1920. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Arts Auto United States historic place

Art's Auto is a historic former service station at 5–7 Lonsdale Avenue in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. It is a single-story brick structure with a flat roof and a series of towers capped by pointed roofs. It was erected as an automotive service station in 1927–28 for Arthur Normand at a time when gasoline producers competed, in part, by the shape and style of their service stations. This station is one of two stations known to survive from this period in the state. Its front facade has a dramatic presentation, with square towers topped by pyramidal roofs at the corners, and a projecting round bay in the center topped by a conical roof, with windows arrayed around the bay and on its flanks. The building is currently used as an office for Anchor Financial. Art's Auto was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Bridge Mill Power Plant United States historic place

The Bridge Mill Power Plant is an historic hydroelectric plant at 25 Roosevelt Avenue in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. It is a red brick building, with sections two and three stories in height, located on the west bank of the Seekonk River. An ashlar granite retaining wall obscures a conduit which delivers water to the facility from the Pawtucket Falls Dam. The facility has three parts: a gate house, which controls the flow of water into the power house, where five turbines were located. A boiler house housed a steam generation facility which was used to generate power when the water levels were too low for hydroelectric power generation. Built in 1893, this is probably the best-preserved 19th-century hydroelectric power station in Rhode Island.

E.A. Burnham House United States historic place

The E. A. Burnham House is an historic house at 17 Nickerson Street in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. It is a ​2 12-story wood-frame structure, with a cross-gabled hip roof plan. Its exterior is finished in wood shingles, with decorative Gothic Revival bargeboard, finials, and other elements. The building's interior contains elaborately carved woodwork, most of which has survived conversion of the building to multiple units. The house was built in 1902 for Eugene Burnham, a local businessman, and is one of the few known designs of local architect Albert H. Humes. The property's garage, which is stylistically similar to the house, may be one of the oldest in the city.

Exchange Street Historic District (Pawtucket, Rhode Island) United States historic place

The Exchange Street Historic District is an industrial and civic historic district roughly along Exchange, Front and Fountain Streets in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The 10.5-acre (4.2 ha) area is located just north of Pawtucket's downtown, and includes seven buildings and the Exchange Street Bridge, which spans the Blackstone River. The seven buildings are sandwiched between the river to the west, Broadway to the east, Blackstone Avenue to the north, and Front and Exchange Streets on the south. The most prominent buildings in the district are the 1926 William E. Tolman High School, sited high above the river just north of Exchange Street, and the Pawtucket Armory, built in 1895 and featuring crenellated towers. South of Exchange Street stand several mill buildings dating as far back as 1874.

Fifth Ward Wardroom United States historic place

The Fifth Ward Wardroom is a historic meeting hall at 47 Mulberry Street in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. It is a single-story red brick building, with a low-pitch hipped roof. Basically rectangular, an enclosed entry pavilion projects from the main block. The building was designed by William R. Walker & Son and built in 1886. Originally used as a polling place and meeting hall, it was later used as a school and by veterans organizations before being converted into a single family residence during its National Register of Historic Places nomination. It was listed on the historic register in 1983.

Fire Station No. 4 (Pawtucket, Rhode Island) United States historic place

Fire Station Number 4 or Fire Station No. 4 is a historic fire station located at 474 Broadway in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The building historically has also been called the Collyer Fire Station. The Queen Anne Style station was built in 1890. It is a ​2 12-story, hip-roofed rectangular brick building with two brick wings and a bell tower. Constructed of red brick with sandstone trim and sandstone lintels and sills on the windows, the building has a foliate terracotta plaque bearing its name and date of construction. The fire station was closed as a firehouse in 1974, when the current Fire Station Number 4 on Cottage Street opened. The interior of the building was greatly modified to accommodate offices and meeting rooms by the time of its listing on the national register. In 2014, the building is being used by the Catholic Charities of Providence. Fire Station Number 4 was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

First Ward Wardroom United States historic place

The First Ward Wardroom is a historic meeting hall at 171 Fountain Street in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. It is a single-story red brick building, with a low-pitch gable-over-hipped roof. Basically rectangular, an enclosed entry pavilion projects from the main block. The building, designed by William R. Walker & Son and built in 1886, is one of only three ward halls to survive in the state. Since about 1920 it has been the Major Walter G. Gatchell Post No. 306 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Pawtucket Armory United States historic place

The Pawtucket Armory is an historic armory building at 172 Exchange Street in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. One of the major works of William R. Walker & Son, it was built in 1894–5. Built of red brick with granite and limestone trim, it has a distinctive main block, with crenellated towers at the corners, and is prominently sited near Pawtucket's central business district. It has a Richardsonian Romanesque entry, recessed under a round archway with wrought iron gates. The armory drill hall extends to behind the building along Fountain Avenue.

Pawtucket City Hall United States historic place

Pawtucket City Hall is located at 137 Roosevelt Avenue, just outside the central business district of Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The Art Deco-style building was designed by Providence architect John O'Malley and was built in 1933. It has a large rectangular main block, fifteen bays wide, whose central, three-bay portion projects slightly. Above this section, rises a tower 209 feet (64 m) in height. The main block, which houses the Pawtucket City Hall offices, is four stories high, and it is flanked on either side by squat projecting wings that are three stories high. The left wing houses the central fire station, while the right wing houses the police department headquarters.

Pawtucket Public Library Public library in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, United States

The Pawtucket Public Library, formerly known as the Deborah Cook Sayles Public Library, is located at 13 Summer Street in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Its main building, designed by Ralph Adams Cram and built in 1899-1902, and was a gift to the city from Pawtucket's first mayor, Frederic Clark Sayles, in memory of his recently deceased wife. In the late 1970s, an addition was built to connect the library to the neighboring Pawtucket Post Office, which had been built in 1896, had served as the post office until 1941, and which now forms part of the library's infrastructure as the renamed Gerald S. Burns Building.

Church Hill Grammar School United States historic place

The Church Hill Grammar School, now the Edward J. Creamer Pawtucket School Administration Building, is a historic school building at 81 Park Place in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. It is a 2-1/2 story structure, finished in brick trimmed with granite. It is an elegant example of Queen Anne styling, designed by the Providence firm of William R. Walker & Son and built in 1889–90. It has a cross-gabled slate roof, a prominent bell tower with pyramidal roof, and entrances recessed under shed-roof porches. The building served as a school until 1946, and then as an administration building until 2006.

Jenckes Spinning Company United States historic place

The Jenckes Spinning Company is a historic textile factory complex in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Located on Conant and Weeden Streets, the complex was developed between 1883 and 1919, and was home to the city's largest employer in the 1910s, producing cotton fabric and fabric for use in automotive tires until 1933. The factory complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2018.
