The Ireland women's national ice hockey team is the women's national ice hockey team of the Republic of Ireland. The team is controlled by the Irish Ice Hockey Association, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. Until the Dundalk Ice Dome reopens they do not meet minimum IIHF standards for participation.

History

Ireland played its first game in 2011 during the 2011 Women's World Ice Hockey Championships – Division V tournament held in Sofia, Bulgaria. [2] They competed against Bulgaria, Poland, Spain, and Turkey. [3] Their first game of the tournament was against Poland which they went on to lose 23–0, which would also be their largest recorded loss. [2] Ireland lost all of the other three games of the tournament, finishing last in the group. [2] The following year Ireland competed in the 2013 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II Group B Qualification tournament against Bulgaria and Turkey. Ireland lost both of its games and failed to qualify for the 2014 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II Group B tournament. [4]

Games were played at Äijänsuo Arena in Rauma and Tampere Ice Stadium in Tampere. Russia defeated the United States 6–5 in the final to claim the gold medal, while Sweden defeated Canada 8–3 to capture the bronze medal.

The 2006 IIHF World U18 Championships were held in Ängelholm and Halmstad, Sweden. The championships began on April 12, 2006 and finished on April 22, 2006. Games were played at Ängelholms Ishall in Ängelholm and Sannarps Isstadion in Halmstad. The United States of America defeated Finland 3–1 in the final to claim the gold medal, while the Czech Republic defeated Canada 4–1 to capture the bronze medal.

The 2005 IIHF World U18 Championships were held in České Budějovice and Plzeň, Czech Republic. The championships began on April 14, 2005 and finished on April 24, 2005. Games were played at Budvar Arena in České Budějovice and ČEZ Aréna in Plzeň. The United States of America defeated Canada 5–1 in the final to claim the gold medal, while the Sweden defeated Czech Republic 4–2 to capture the bronze medal.

The 2004 IIHF World U18 Championships were held in Minsk, Belarus. The championships began on April 8, 2004, and finished on April 18, 2004. Games were played at the Ice Palace and Palace sport in Minsk. Russia defeated the United States 3–2 in the final to claim the gold medal, while the Czech Republic defeated Canada 3–2 to capture the bronze medal.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Spain men's national ice hockey team</span>

The Spanish men's national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey team of Spain. The team is administered by the Spanish Ice Sports Federation, itself a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). As of April 2020, the Spanish men's national program is 31st on the IIHF World Rankings and has 135 registered players. The men's national team currently competes at the IIHF World Championship Division II, Group A level.

The 2009 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships was the 73rd such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Teams representing 46 countries participated in four levels of competition. The competition also served as qualifications for division placements in the 2010 competition. In the Division I Championship held in April, Kazakhstan and Italy were promoted to the Championship division, while Australia and Romania were demoted to Division II. In the Division II competition, Serbia and South Korea were promoted, North Korea and South Africa were relegated to Division III. In the Division III competition, New Zealand and Turkey were promoted to Division II for 2009.

The 2008 IIHF World U18 Championship Division III was a pair of international under-18 ice hockey tournaments run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Division III tournaments made up the fourth level of competition at the 2008 IIHF World U18 Championships. The Group A tournament took place between 2 and 8 March 2008 in Mexico City, Mexico and the Group B tournament took place between 3 and 9 March 2008 in İzmit, Turkey. Mexico and Serbia won the Group A and Group B tournaments respectively and gained promotion to Division II for the 2009 IIHF World U18 Championships.

The Armenia men's national under 20 ice hockey team is the national under-20 ice hockey team in Armenia. The team is managed by the Ice Hockey Federation of Armenia, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation.

The Australian men's national under 20 ice hockey team is the national under-20 ice hockey team of Australia. The team represents Australia at the International Ice Hockey Federation's World Junior Hockey Championship Division III.

The Luxembourg men's national under 20 ice hockey team is the national under-20 ice hockey team of Luxembourg. The team is controlled by the Luxembourg Ice Hockey Federation, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation.

The following teams took part in the Division V tournament which was held in Sofia, Bulgaria, from March 14 to March 20. As the winner of the group, Poland was promoted to Division IV for the 2012 championships. Additionally Spain was elevated because of some nations' withdrawals. Ireland, Turkey, and Bulgaria resumed play in 2013 in Division IIB Qualification.

The Ukraine women's national ice hockey team is the women's national ice hockey team of Ukraine. The team is controlled by the Ice Hockey Federation of Ukraine, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. They made their World Championship debut in 2019 winning all four games to gain promotion to Division II B.

The 2012 IIHF InLine Hockey World Championship Division I was an international inline hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Division I tournament ran alongside the 2012 IIHF InLine Hockey World Championship and took place between 1 and 7 June 2012 in Ingolstadt, Germany. The tournament was won by Slovakia who upon winning gained promotion to the 2013 IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship. While Bulgaria and New Zealand were relegated after finishing last and second last respectively.

The 2007 IIHF World U18 Championship Division III was an international under-18 ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Division III tournament made up the fourth level of competition at the 2007 IIHF World U18 Championships and took place between 5 and 11 March 2007 in Beijing, China. The tournament was won by Spain who upon winning gained promotion, along with China who finished in second place, to Division II of the 2007 IIHF World U18 Championships.

Bernadett Anita Németh is a Hungarian ice hockey player and member of the Hungarian national ice hockey team, currently playing in the European Women's Hockey League (EWHL) with the women's team of MAC Budapest.
