Tonya Lynn Verbeek is a Canadian freestyle wrestler. Verbeek was the first woman to win a wrestling medal for Canada when she took silver in 2004, she added to that with a bronze at the 2008 Summer Olympics and a second silver at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. She has also won two bronze and a silver at the world championships and has a bronze and silver from the Pan American Games and Commonwealth Games respectively.

Chun was the first female wrestler from Hawaii to win a medal at the Olympics. She was inducted into the 2018 Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame and 2022 National Wrestling Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Member.

He is a three-time European Champion, three-time World Champion and also won a bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He is a Grand Master of Sports in Freestyle Wrestling.

David Zilberman is a Canadian Olympic freestyle wrestler. He is a two-time Canadian champion. In 2003, he won a bronze medal at the Pan American Championships, wrestling at 84 kg. In 2004, he won a silver medal at the FISU World University Championships, at 84 kg. In 2005, he won the Canada Cup gold medal, and the Commonwealth Wrestling Championships silver medal. He took 5th in the 2006 World Championships, and won a silver medal at the 2006 FISU World University Championships. He won a gold medal at the 2007 Senior Canadian National Championships.

He won a bronze medal in the 55-kg division at the 2004 European Wrestling Championships in Ankara, Turkey, and later represented his nation Bulgaria at the Summer Olympics a few months later. Throughout his sporting career, Djorev trained as a member of the freestyle wrestling team for Sozopol Sports Club in Yambol, under his personal coach Angel Gochev.

Throughout his sporting career, Paslar trained full time as a member of the wrestling squad for Slavia Sports Club in Sofia under his personal coach Ilian Stefanov.

Kunihiko Obata is a retired amateur Japanese freestyle wrestler, who competed in the men's middleweight category. He achieved top eight finishes in the 74-kg division at the Asian Games, scored two bronze medals at the 2001 and 2004 Asian Wrestling Championships, and also represented his nation Japan at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Before his sporting career ended in late 2006, Obata trained as part of the men's freestyle wrestling squad at Yamanashi Gakuin University under his coach and mentor Yuji Takada.

He achieved top six finishes in the 74-kg division at the Asian Games, produced a stark tally of four medals at the Asian Wrestling Championships, and also represented his nation India at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Before his sporting career ended in 2006, Maan trained full-time for Guru Hanuman Wrestling Club in his native New Delhi, under his coach and mentor Maha Singhrao.
