Ken McKinnon

Kenneth Richard McKinnon AO was the second vice-chancellor of the University of Wollongong between 1981 and 1994. [1] [2] He also served as interim vice-chancellor of James Cook University in 1997 and Charles Darwin University from 2002 to 2003, where he was responsible for the name change from Northern Territory University. [1] [3] The main Law building and co-purpose lecture theatre at the University of Wollongong is named in honour of his contribution during this time.

McKinnon was made an Officer of the Order of Australia in the 1995 Queen's Birthday Honours for "service to education, to the community and to the arts". [4]

James McWha

James Alexander McWha is a botanist whose professional career was devoted to teaching, research and educational administration in New Zealand, Northern Ireland and Australia. He retired as Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Adelaide on 30 June 2012. In October 2013 he was appointed as Vice Chancellor of the newly created University of Rwanda. He retired from the University of Rwanda in October 2015.

Alec Lazenby is an academic who has held positions at the University of Cambridge, University of New England, University of Tasmania, the Institute of Grassland and Environmental Research and the Welsh Plant Breeding Station. Lazenby served as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of New England from 1970 to 1977, and the University of Tasmania from 1982 to 1991.

Alex Zelinsky

Alexander ‘Alex’ Zelinsky, is an Australian computer scientist, systems engineer and roboticist. His career spans innovation, science and technology, research and development, commercial start-ups and education. Zelinsky is Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Newcastle joining the university in November 2018. He was the Chief Defence Scientist of Australia from March 2012 until November 2018. As Chief Defence Scientist he led Defence Science and Technology for Australia's Department of Defence.

Tom Calma

Thomas Edwin Calma,, is an Aboriginal Australian human rights and social justice campaigner. He is the sixth chancellor of the University of Canberra, a post held since January 2014, after two years as deputy chancellor. Calma is the second Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person to hold the position of chancellor of any Australian university.

Colin Patrick Mackerras is an Australian sinologist, Emeritus Professor at Griffith University, and specialist in Chinese culture. He has published on Chinese drama, national minorities of China, Australian-Chinese relations and images of China in the West.

MaryAnn Bin-Sallik Djaru Elder and Australian academic

MaryAnn Bin-Sallik is Djaru Elder and Australian academic, specialising in Indigenous studies and culture. She was the first Indigenous Australian to gain a doctorate from Harvard University.

Richard Bedford (geographer) New Zealand human geographer (b. 1945)

Richard Dodgshun Bedford, also known as Dick Bedford, is emeritus professor in human geography at Auckland University of Technology (AUT). He was the president of the Royal Society Te Apārangi from 2015 to 2018.
