The Kakar is a Gharghashti Pashtun tribe, based in Afghanistan, parts of Iran, northern Balochistan in Pakistan.
Nawab Nauroz (Nowroz) Khan (1868?–1965), also known by Balochs as Babu Nowroz, was the head of the Zarakzai (Zehri), a subject to the Khan of Kalat in Balochistan, Pakistan. After his unsuccessful insurgency against the government of that time he was imprisoned in Kohlu jail where he died in 1965.
The Kharoti (Pashto:خروٹی) خروټی) are a Pashtun tribe of Ghilji origin, originating in the central part of Paktika Province, Afghanistan, but can be also found in other parts of the country. The Kharoti settled in Kharotabad in Quetta, British India around 1945.

Shams-ud-din Harifal was an was an Islamic Sunni Hanafi scholar of the Deobandi school of thought and political leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam and Tehreek-e-Khatme-e-Nubuwwat. He had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, between 1988 and May 2018. He was the Chairman of the influential Council of Islamic Ideology from 2010 to 2016.

Arfa Siddiq Kakar, also spelled Arifa Siddique, is a Pakistani politician and human rights activist from the town of Muslim Bagh in northern Balochistan, Pakistan. She is a supporter of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM). From 2013 to 2018, she was a member of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan as a candidate from the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP). She comes from the Kakar tribe of Pashtuns.
On 12 May 2023, a terrorist attack occurred in Muslim Bagh, Killa Saifullah District in northern Balochistan, Pakistan. Insurgents attacked a Frontier Corps camp, killing six security officers and a civilian.
