Song Xinren (Pierre Png) nearly knocks into Bai Xiaoshan (Julie Tan) on his bicycle. Disgruntled, she steals his wallet. His clever ploy results in her returning the wallet. He then pays her to run an errand for him. Meidai (Hong Huifang) overhears people in the market talking about a failed en bloc sale; she is one of those who had opposed it. She spots her husband, Weiguo (Zhu Houren), chatting with a woman at the coffeeshop and is jealous. Weiguo helps Xinren man his father's antique shop. Business is poor, and Xinren often resorts to tricks to make customers compensate him. Winston tries hard to persuade Weiguo to sign the en bloc papers.

While Weiguo is on his way to the antique shop, a lady by the name of Ye Ying, approached him seeking for his help. Apparently she lost her wallet and is in a rush to the hospital to see her mother-in-law. Weiguo was sceptical about it, hence decides to tag along. Meidai realizes that Weiguo has forgotten his wallet and mobile phone, decides to give him a chase to hand them over to him. She was furious when she saw Weiguo entering a cab with a lady.

Meidai finds out that Weiguo's savings is missing $2000, and after interrogating him, he tells her that he had lent the money to Ye Ying. He explained that Ye Ying's husband had died a long time ago but even so, she did not leave his mother, instead continued to take care of her. Weiguo feels that her character is really commendable and he should lend her a helping hand, therefore lent her the money. Meidai is at rage after hearing the story and asks for a divorce, but little did she know that Weiguo will agree.

After learning that Xiaoshan likes Xinren, and all the good qualities that he possesses, her billionaire parents decide to match make the both of them. They knew that Xinren has yet to fall for Xiaoshan, rather, he has his eyes on another lady. Hence, in order to let their beloved daughter's wish come true, together with their butler Caishun, they came out with a plan to let Xinren fall in love with Xiaoshan.

Caishun arranged for someone to knock Xinren into the swimming pool, allowing Xiaoshan to have a chance to save him and get close to him. However, the plan backfired. Xinren was saved by Xiaomin (Felicia Chin), and she tried performing CPR on him. Xiaoshan then appears, and took over the CPR as what Xiaomin was doing was incorrect, not long after, Xinren regains conscious. He thought that Xiaoshan was the one who saved him; Xiaoshan didn't reveal the truth.

Xinren's elder sister, Chuyun (Ann Kok), is in the midst of divorcing his husband after finding out that he has a marital affair. She moved to live with Xinren. Chuyun is afraid to take the wheel again after an accident which happened a couple of years ago. However, Xinren forced her to send his son to childcare as a first step of stepping out from her past. Soon, she met a man in his mid-thirties, Fang Yaoliang (Bryan Wong). Noticing how much of a careful driver he is, Yaoliang left a good impression on Chuyun.

Xiaomin brought Xinren to a home, which was in a mess; it lived a mentally disabled young boy, Zhihai. Xinren thought that he was there to do volunteer work, so started cleaning up the place and even gave the house a new coat of paint. But he was disturbed by Zhihai, and when he felt that it was unbearable, he scolded Zhihai. It was only then did Xiaomin reveal to Xinren that Zhihai is his younger brother.

Xinren told his sister excitedly that he has a girlfriend, thinking that the girl will be her, Xiaoshan was secretly happy; but it turns out to be Xiaomin. Xiaoshan was badly hurt and saddened that she ran out of the house, Xinren immediately gave chase. When he saw Xiaoshan entering an expensive car, he was shocked.

Thinking that Xiaoshan has a terminal illness and days are numbered, Xinren took pity on her and brought her back home. He took care of her so well that shocked Xiaoshan. Seeing that he gave so much attention to Xiaoshan, Chuyun thought that he was two-timing. She warned him that if he has no feelings for Xiaoshan, he should let her know soon; but Xinren explained that he has a reason for his actions.

Zhihai has brain cancer and is required to fly to New York for his medical treatment. After knowing that his medical bill will be at least $500,000, Xinren decides to help Xiaomin with it; he wants to let his antique out at a low price, however was being stopped by Weiguo and Chuyun. After that, he signed the en bloc agreement and requested for the developer to give him $500,000 immediately. When Chuyun opposes, the siblings got into a heated argument.

It is only when Xiaomin disappears suddenly that Xinren realizes he had been cheated. He cycled vigorously to vent his anger, even cycling straight into a wall on purpose which got him injured. When Xiaoshan instructed Caishun to look for Xiaomin, Caishun told Xiaoshan that she should seize this opportunity and support Xinren, help him to get back on track and eventually, replace Xiaomin.

Xiaoshan accepted Xinren's proposal. However, during their wedding preparations, Xiaoshan said that she wants to call off the wedding; this is because her terminal illness was a lie and she does not want the marriage to be built on sympathy. Xinren only learnt about Xiaoshan's wealthy background when Yongchun and Yenqiu appears.

Despite the unsuccessful en bloc plan, Xinren is still required to return $500,000 to the developer, otherwise he will be forced to sell his apartment. Winston felt that it was unfair and said that Xiaomin benefited the most. When Xinren tried to help Xiaomin explain to Winston that whatever she did was all to help her little brother, Winston then said that he have never heard that Xiaomin has a brother.

Chuyun and Yaoliang brought Yu An out to play, however this reminded Yaoliang of his lost son, Yong En, which made him feel dejected. Yaoliang felt a sharp pain in his chest while driving, and in order to send him to the hospital, Chuyun took the wheel. But in actual fact, Yaoliang was lying; Chuyun became angry but forgave him eventually. She even told him that she had overcome her fear of driving.

Weiguo fell and got hurt, Meidai thought that he was poisoned from the food which she had spiked after suspecting that Weiguo has an affair. After hearing from the doctor that he was not poisoned, and instead has high blood pressure, Meidai realized that she was the one eating all the spiked food, while her husband has been eating foods with added salt.

When Xiaomin was stabbed by Winston, Xinren insisted on staying in the hospital until she wakes up. When Xiaoshan saw how anxious Xinren was towards Xiaomin, she knew that he stills bear feelings for her, and decided to leave Xinren. Xiaoshan told Xinren the truth that she has no terminal illness and should then call off the wedding. She apologized and left.

Xinren brought Zhihai to pick Xiaomin out from the hospital. When Xiaomin found out that Xinren's wedding has been called off, she was shocked. The three of them then went over to Xinren's place, and when they reached, Xinren saw the broken vinyl. He was so furious that he scolded Zhihai for spoiling it. Xiaomin felt bad and thought that it was inconvenient for them to stay on, hence decided to move to stay in with Caishun.

Chuyun found out that Yaoliang has migrated; she was saddened as he did not tell her about it. When Chuyun and Xinren discussed about the sudden change of Yaoliang, Chuyun talks about the times whereby he bought her a car and how she almost hit Yu An. And after that incident, Yaoliang started to stay away from her. Xinren smelt something fishy about it; he determines to find out the truth.

When Yaoliang went to pay tribute to his son, he met Chuyun. Chuyun sincerely apologized to Yaoliang, and forgave him for harbouring the thought of revenge. Yaoliang too, forgave Chuyun after seeing how much pain she went through after the accident. Chuyun sees that Yaoliang love Yu An a lot so she decides to let Yu An be Yaoliang's godson; but Yaoliang didn't know how to react, he just left.

Xiaoshan's father was hit with a stroke after meeting a huge problem with his business. Caishun is unable to contact Xiaoshan, so in desperation, he went to seek help from Xinren. Xinren decided to go hunt for Xiaoshan based on a postcard. When Xiaomin sees how much Xinren is anxious about Xiaoshan, she was sad. When Xinren rushed to the airport, he met Xiaoshan. Between Xiaoshan and Xiaomin, who will Xinren pick?

C.L.I.F. is a police procedural series produced by Mediacorp Singapore in 2011 in collaboration with the Singapore Police Force. It was aired from 31 May to 27 June 2011 on free-to-air MediaCorp Channel 8 and consists of 20 episodes. The drama stars Tay Ping Hui, Qi Yuwu, Elvin Ng, Joanne Peh, Chris Tong and Tracy Lee in the main roles with a large ensemble supporting cast. Against the Tide is a psychological thriller drama produced by MediaCorp Channel 8. This drama features different crime cases. The show aired at 9pm on weekdays and had a repeat telecast at 8am the following day. The Series is repeated at 12pm to 2pm on Channel 8 on Sunday. Each case lasts 3-5 episodes and features a main character of the case. The drama began production in March 2014 and wrapped up its filming in May 2014. The series stars Felicia Chin, Pierre Png, Julie Tan, Ann Kok and Bryan Wong as the main characters of the series, it is also a mid year blockbuster drama for 2014. This series repeat telecast every Sunday at 12pm - 2pm.

Hayley Woo is a Singaporean actress. She was managed by JTeam JM Artiste Network from 2013 to 2017. She has an identical twin sister, Jayley Woo, who is also an actress.
