Energetický a průmyslový holding, a.s. (EPH) is a Czech Republic (Prague) based company currently investing mainly in the energy sector in Europe, founded in 2009. The group's business lines covers the complete value chain ranging from highly efficient cogeneration, power generation, and natural gas transmission, gas storage, gas and electricity distribution and supply. The majority owner is Czech entrepreneur and lawyer Daniel Křetínský (94%), who is ranked among the richest Czechs in the long term and according to Forbes he became a dollar billionaire in 2017. The remaining 6% is distributed among selected managers of EPH. EPH employs almost 25.000 people and comprises over 50 companies.

ANO 2011, often shortened to simply ANO, the initials meaning Action of Dissatisfied Citizens, is a populist political party in the Czech Republic. The party has been labelled as centrist on the political spectrum by some sources, while others state that it is a centre-right party. At the European level ANO is a member of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party and the Renew Europe group in the European Parliament. The party is led by entrepreneur Andrej Babiš, who served as Prime Minister in 2017–2021.

Joe Karafiát is a Czech singer and guitarist. In 1980, he emigrated from Czechoslovakia to London and he left England after two years. Settled in Canada, he played with various musicians and also recorded an album with another Czech musician Vratislav Brabenec. After the Velvet Revolution, he returned to Prague, where became a member of Garage. In 1997, he joined The Plastic People of the Universe. In 2014, he released debut EP called Zodiak, which was produced by Boris Carloff. Same year, he guested on Dva divoký koně by Czech singer Dáša Vokatá.

Lake Malawi is an English-language Czech indie pop band from Třinec, formed in 2013. It currently consists of lead vocalist, guitarist, and keyboardist Albert Černý, and bassist and keyboardist Jeroným Šubrt. The band was formed by Černý following the breakup of his former group, Charlie Straight. Their debut EP, We Are Making Love Again, was released in 2015 and followed by the album Surrounded by Light in 2017. They represented the Czech Republic in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Friend of a Friend", finishing in eleventh place. In 2022, they released their second album, The Great Video Game Crush.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Peter Aristone</span> Musical artist

Peter Aristone is a Slovak singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer based in Prague, Czech republic. Early in his career, he was a member of progressive metal band Personal Signet and pop band Popcorn Drama. His first solo album 19 Days in Tetbury was released in March 2014 with the following EPs Gold (2016) and Happiest Accidents (2017) marking a significant shift from pop to more folk and indie rock oriented sound. His second solo album The Hit was released in June 2020.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">The Desperate Mind</span> Czech punk rock band

The Desperate Mind is a punk rock band from the Czech Republic. They were formed in 2011 by singer and rhythm guitarist Martin J. Polák, lead guitarist Tomáš Ondra, bassist Dominik Zavadil, and drummer Dominik Kubík. In 2014, Winc Janeček replaced Dominik Kubík, and in 2015 David Havelka replaced Dominik Zavadil. In 2018, Filip Buršík replaced Tomáš Ondra, forging the current lineup. Without being signed to any label, the band gained a significant following with their 2015 debut album, Amassed Sickness, and the following grew bigger with their 2016 release, an EP called False Flag. As of 2020, the band is on tour supporting their newest album, All Walls Will Fall.

The 2019 European Parliament election in the Czech Republic was held on 24 and 25 May 2019, electing the 21 members of the Czech delegation to the European Parliament as part of the European elections held across the European Union.

The Masaryk Democratic Party is a centrist political party in the Czech Republic, founded on 25 May 1992. The party follows the legacy of the first Czechoslovak President Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk and considers itself a successor and to the tradition of the historical Czech Realist Party.
