Live at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival is the first live album by the San Francisco, CA based band New Monsoon. It was recorded live on June 17, 2004 at the venerable Telluride Bluegrass Festival. It was released on March 15, 2005.

It contains 15 songs and is the first album focusing on Martin as a musician. Martin's 1977 comedy recording Let's Get Small, however, did feature him briefly playing the banjo during some of the comedy bits, and The Steve Martin Brothers devotes one side to banjo playing, including earlier renditions of some of the music presented here. It was first released on January 27, 2009 as an Amazon.com exclusive and then released to retail stores everywhere on May 19, 2009. On January 31, 2010, the album won the Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album at the 52nd Grammy Awards.

Bearfoot is a post-bluegrass band that started in Alaska in 1999 as Bearfoot Bluegrass. The original all-Alaskan band competed in and won the 26th annual Telluride Bluegrass band contest in 2001, and returned the following year to perform in the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. They later changed their name to Bearfoot as their music evolved to include americana, post-bluegrass, and string instrument based pop.
BlueBilly Grit, commonly abbreviated BBG, is an American bluegrass band originating from Maysville, Georgia. The band is a sextet composed of female and male vocals, acoustic guitar, upright bass, mandolin, fiddle, and banjo. BlueBilly Grit has released two albums — Mill Grinder's Blues (2009), Ready For A Change (2011) and Live at the Melting Point (2013). In 2012, BlueBilly Grit won the Telluride Bluegrass Festival band competition. In addition, BlueBilly Grit has performed in numerous radio and television broadcasts, including Nuts and Bolts of Fishing which aired on Turner South and the Moby in the Morning Show which airs on WNGC.
Run Boy Run is a progressive bluegrass and Americana band from Tucson, Arizona. Known for their blend of old-time bluegrass, folk, and classical music as well as for their focus on three-part harmonies, the band first rose to national attention following appearances on Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion in 2013. Since their 2009 inception, Run Boy Run has garnered a number of accolades, including winning placements at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and Flagstaff's Pickin' in the Pines.

Head for the Hills is a four-piece string band from Fort Collins, Colorado consisting of Adam Kinghorn (guitar/vocals), Joe Lessard (violin/vocals), Matt Loewen, and Sam Parks (mandolin/vocals). Lessard is also a founding member of alternative hip hop group, Whiskey Blanket. Formed in 2003, Head for the Hills' style of music is described as progressive bluegrass but explores a variety of modern genres, from Americana to jazz, indie rock, and hip-hop. All members contribute to songwriting and material arrangement, with the primary vocalists being Kinghorn and Lessard.
