Louis Tapardjuk (born January 30,1953,in an igloo northwest of Igloolik,Nunavut,Canada) was the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the electoral district of Amittuq from 2004 to 2013,having won the seat in the 2004 Nunavut election. He served in the Executive Council of Nunavut the Minister of Finance and Minister of Culture,Language,Elders and Youth (CLEY).
Prior to becoming an MLA in the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut Tapardjuk was mayor of Igloolik and served as a board member of the Tunngavik Federation of Nunavut.
In January 2009,Taparadjuk was demoted as Minister of Justice due to comments that he made concerning the mutuality of domestic violence between men and women. In an e-mail message dated January 21,2009,Taparadjuk wrote:"Often,in cases of domestic disputes,both parties share the blame,but according to the criminal code,the person who gets physical is charged,even though the other party may have initiated the conflict. Often the male is charged even though the conflict may have been initiated by the female partner."
Three days after Taparadjuk's e-mail was sent,Premier Eva Aariak removed him as Minister of Justice,saying,"This government does not condone violence against women or men in any way,for any reason,which the line seems to imply."

Tootoo resigned from that position on May 31, 2016, to take a leave from Parliament to seek treatment for alcohol addiction. He returned to Parliament by the end of July 2016 after the completion of his treatment program, but sat as an independent member for the remainder of the 42nd Parliament and did not run for re-election.

She was a member of the non-partisan Legislative Assembly of Nunavut representing the riding of Nattilik from 2004 until stepping down in 2008; then was a Conservative Member of Parliament representing the riding of Nunavut after winning the seat in the 2008 federal election. She was the first Conservative to win the seat, and only the second centre-right candidate ever to win it. Leona Aglukkaq is the first Inuk woman to serve in cabinet. She remained an MP until she was defeated in the 2015 federal election by Liberal candidate Hunter Tootoo. Aglukkaq unsuccessfully contested the 2019 federal election.

In addition, she served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Beaufort from March 2004 to March 2008 and again from May 2013 to November 2022 as well as Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Klias from March 2008 to May 2013. She is a member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) as well as formerly Pakatan Harapan (PH) opposition coalitions and was a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition. By Delhi Legislative Assembly he was appointed Chairman, Public Accounts Committee, Chairman, House Committee on Violation of Protocol Norms and Contemptuous Behaviour By Government Officers with MLAs, Members of Standing Committee on Education and Committee on Govt Undertakings.
Pat Angnakak is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut in the 2013 election and reelected in 2017. She represented the electoral district of Iqaluit-Niaqunnguu until 2021; she resigned her seat in the legislature in August 2021 in order to run as a Liberal Party of Canada candidate in the 2021 Canadian federal election, but was defeated by Lori Idlout of the New Democratic Party.
