The column, launched on January 29, 2013, reports on K-pop music; artists, concerts, chart information and news events. Billboard and its website had reported on K-pop for a number of years, following the evolution of K-pop, increasing the number of articles with the spike in 2009, and finally culminated in a column specifically for the genre after Psy's July 2012, "Gangnam Style" hit made K-pop history and doubled online viewership. K-Town was created as part of the popular music publication's website relaunch, with new features for fans, and the goal of providing more on-site reporting of festivals, award shows, and other major music events.

Pristin was a South Korean girl group formed by Pledis Entertainment in 2016. The group was composed of ten members: Nayoung, Roa, Yuha, Eunwoo, Rena, Kyulkyung, Yehana, Sungyeon, Xiyeon, and Kyla. Most of them appeared on the television show Produce 101 and, as the prize for becoming two of the top contestants, Nayoung and Kyulkyung went on to debut as part of the project girl group I.O.I, before reuniting with the other members to debut as Pristin on March 21, 2017, with the first EP Hi! Pristin. Pristin was known for writing and composing their own music. Following two years without group activities, the group disbanded on May 24, 2019 when only 3 of the 10 members renewed their contract with Pledis Entertainment.

The Clan Pt. 2.5: The Final Chapter is the debut studio album and the final part of The Clan series by the South Korean boy group Monsta X. "Lo Siento" is a trilingual song that was recorded by South Korean boy band Super Junior. The song features Dominican-American singer Leslie Grace and producers Play-N-Skillz; it was released on Replay (2018), a repackaged version of the band's eighth studio album Play (2017). SM Entertainment, Label SJ and iriver released the track as the album's lead single on April 12, 2018. Daniel "Obi" Klein, Charli Taft, Andreas Oberg, and Juan "Play" and Oscar "Skillz" Salinas composed the song, and its lyrics were written in Korean, Spanish and English by Kenzie, Mario Caceres, Yasmil Marrufo, Grace, as well as Super Junior members Heechul and Eunhyuk. The song describes love at first sight; it marks the band's first collaboration with foreign artists and their first venture into Latin pop.

<i>Purpose</i> (Taeyeon album) 2019 studio album by Taeyeon

Purpose is the second studio album by South Korean singer Taeyeon. It was released through SM Entertainment on October 28, 2019. It features 12 tracks, including the Gaon number-one single "Four Seasons" and its B-side "Blue" alongside ten new tracks, including the title track "Spark". On January 15, 2020, a repackage edition of Purpose was released including three new songs, including title track "Dear Me". Musically, it is a pop record that contains influences of ballad, R&B, blues and jazz. The album was originally set to be released on October 22, 2019, but was postponed until October 28 due to the passing of Sulli.

<i>Delight</i> (Baekhyun EP) 2020 EP by Baekhyun

Delight is the second extended play by South Korean singer Baekhyun. It was released on May 25, 2020, by SM Entertainment, and features seven tracks, including the lead single, "Candy". The album is available in four versions: Cinnamon, Honey, Mint, and Chemistry, which was released on June 29.

Face the Sun is the fourth studio album by South Korean boy band Seventeen. It was released on May 27, 2022, by Pledis Entertainment through YG Plus. The album contains nine tracks, with "Hot" serving as lead single. The first track, "Darl+ing", was pre-released on April 15, 2022. The repackaged version of the album, titled Sector 17, released on July 18 alongside its lead single "World". The fourth track, "Cheers", was pre-released on July 7, 2022.
