Manaji Rao Scindia, popularly known as Manaji Phakade, was the fifth Maharaja of Gwalior State from 1764 to 1768. He became Maharaja of Gwalior after the abdication of Kadarji Rao Scindia.[ citation needed ]

He was the grandson of Sardar Sabaji Scindia. He was recognised by the Peshwa as the Sardar of the Scindias on 10 July 1764 for a period of four years before abdicating in favour of Mahadaji Scindia on 18 January 1768. He continued to serve in the Scindia army till his death in year 1800.

The Gaekwads of Baroda are a Hindu dynasty of the former Maratha Empire and its subsequent Princely States. A dynasty belonging to this clan ruled the princely state of Baroda in western India from the early 18th century until 1947. The ruling prince was known as the Maharaja Gaekwad of Baroda. With the city of Baroda (Vadodara) as its capital, during the British Raj its relations with the British were managed by the Baroda Residency. Scindia School School in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India, India

The Scindia School is an Indian boarding school for boys, established in year 1897, and situated in the historic Gwalior Fort, in the city of Gwalior. It was originally started exclusively for nobles and princes of Royal families, particularly the Marathas, though it no longer discriminates on class. In 2010, the school has enrolled 606 students, with a teacher:student ratio of 1:12.

Jean Baptiste Filose was a military commander in the army of Daulat Rao Sindhia, the Maratha ruler of Gwalior. In 1811 he captured the fortress of Chanderi on the eastern border of Sindhia's kingdom from the Bundela Rajput rulers. He led Sindhia's forces against British during the Third Anglo-Maratha War (1817–1818), and captured the fortress of Garha Kota near Sagar in 1817.

It was founded by Sir Henry Daly of the British Indian Army during India's colonial British Raj, following an English public school model. The school started in 1870 as the Residency School. It was then renamed as the East Rajkumar College in 1876, and in 1882, it came to be known as The Daly College. Gajra Raja Medical College is the first medical college in Madhya Pradesh, India established in 1946. It was inaugurated on 1 August 1946 by Jiwaji Rao Scindia. The college building was inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on 5 December 1948. It has 150 undergraduate seats for MBBS course, 68 seats for post graduation courses and 36 seats for diploma courses.

Sardar Mahadik of Gwalior

The Sardar Mahadik family of Gwalior State are a Maratha family who once held noble rank. The family's roots lie with Yashwant Rao Mahadik, who accompanied Mahadji Scindia to Gwalior from the Deccan.

Kadarji Rao Scindia was the fourth Maharaja of Gwalior State for a brief period. He became Maharaja of Gwalior after two years of death of Jankoji Rao Scindia in Third battle of Panipat in 1761.

Apa Khande Rao was a general under Maharaja Mahadaji Scindia of the Scindia dynasty that ruled Gwalior State. He brought Mughal emperor Shah Alam II, and most of Haryana under the control of Maratha Empire in 1790s. He joined the maratha army after the Battle of Lalsot against the Rajput kingdoms of Jaipur and Jodhpur. He had commissioned the services George Thomas to conquer Haryana by subduing Rajputs of Rajasthan, Kachawa Shekhawat thakur rulers of Haryana and Shekhawati, Sikhs misl of Haryana, Mughals and Bhatti Muslim Rajputs.
