Max & Bianca were an Australian pop duo formed by Max Donovan and Bianca Oechsle in 2011. Their debut single, "Love Drunk" (December 2013), reached the ARIA Singles Chart top 100. They disbanded late in 2015.

History

Max Donovan and Bianca Oechsle met at a Talent Development Project for students in Sydney. They formed a pop duo sharing lead vocals. [1] The pair were signed to Wonderlick Recordings/Sony. [2] In January 2014 their debut single, "Love Drunk" (December 2013), reached No. 92 on the ARIA singles chart. [3] [4] The song was co-written by Donovan and Oechsle with Anthony Egizii and David Musumeci (p.k.a. DNA Songs). [1] [5] The music video for "Love Drunk" was filmed at Larnach Castle in Dunedin and produced by Benn Jae. [6]

Idolator's Mike Wass observed, "Brought together by mutual friends, the Sydney-based duo play their own instruments and aspire to make quality pop music with substance... the fizzy pop tune sounds like a more melodic Karmin — with sugary sweet vocals and a bold, sing-a-long chorus." [7] Andrew Le of Renowned for Sound, rated it at three-and-a-half out-of five stars and explained, "production is nevertheless disposable and generic. The opening guitar strums are reminiscent of the intro to P!nk’s Raise Your Glass, and [their] voices are heavily processed and sanitized... [it] has an actual song structure, with verses, a pre-chorus that builds to the big chorus, hooks and a bridge... [they] sound great together, whether singing individually or together (with and without harmonising)." [8] In October 2015 the duo performed a live version of "Love Drunk" in the studios of The Music Network . [9]

Max & Bianca followed with a second single, "Young and Broken", in April 2015. [10] It was co-written by the pair with Xavier Dunn. [11] auspOp's Damian Ormerod observed, "[it's] a thumping, punch dance/pop number that ought to win them a slew of new fans across the country with its fab harmonies and stomping dance beats." [10] They were featured singers on "Into the Light" by G-Wizard, which appeared in October of that year and reached No.26 on the ARIA Club Tracks Chart. [12] In late 2015 the duo split, with Oechsle going on to form a new group, Kalide, with DJ Mike Smith.

The band released three studio albums Problems, Head of the Hawk and Company as well as a greatest hits album in 2014.

Busby Marou are an Australian musical duo consisting of Thomas Busby and Jeremy Marou, from Rockhampton, Queensland. At the APRA Music Awards of 2012, the duo won "Blues & Roots Work of the Year" category for their single "Biding My Time", and they have gone on to win several other awards.

Feenixpawl is an Australian house music duo composed of Aden Forte and Josh Soon, formed in 2003. Their fifth single, "In My Mind", peaked at No. 29 on the ARIA Singles Chart, it also spent 11 weeks at No. 1 on the component chart, ARIA Club Tracks, and in 2013 was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical. In April 2015, Feenixpawl launched Eclypse Records in conjunction with Wind-Up Records. The first release from the label, Feenixpawl's "Ghosts", reached number 16 on the Billboard Dance Charts. In 2019, their Trance collaboration with MaRLo, "Lighter than Air", the duo's first endeavour in the trance genre, won the ASOT Tune of the Year.

Peking Duk is an electronic music group made up of disc jockeys and music producers Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles. The pair first garnered attention in 2012 with the release of a Passion Pit bootleg remix. Their biggest hit "High" reached 5 on the ARIA Singles Chart, achieved a triple platinum certification and won the ARIA Award for Best Dance Release at the ARIA Music Awards of 2014. Joel Fletcher Allan, better known as Joel Fletcher, is a music producer and DJ from Melbourne, Australia, who is best known for his 2013 remix of New Zealand rapper Savage's 2005 single "Swing", which charted in Australia and in New Zealand. In 2014, Fletcher was a support act for Avicii's headline tour for the Melbourne and Brisbane dates. At the APRA Music Awards of 2015, Fletcher won Dance Work of the Year for "Swing ", which was co-written by Fletcher, Demetrius Savelio, Nathan Holmes and Aaron Ngawhika.

She is the featured vocalist on "High" by Australian duo, Peking Duk, which peaked at No. 5 on the ARIA Singles Chart and was certified triple platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). Millar co-wrote the track with Sam Littlemore and the duo's Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2014 she won a trophy for Best Dance Release alongside the group. In the following January, "High", was listed at No.2 on the Triple J Hottest 100, 2014.

Gabriel Strum, known professionally as Japanese Wallpaper, is an Australian indie pop singer-songwriter and producer. He released his debut single "Breathe In" featuring Wafia on 10 October 2013. The song featured in Zach Braff's film Wish I Was Here. Strum has had three songs feature in the Triple J Hottest 100: "Between Friends" featuring Jesse Davidson at No. 97 (2014), "Forces" featuring Airling at No. 69 (2015) and "In Motion" featuring Allday at No. 44 (2017). He released his debut album Glow on 18 October 2019.
