Notes

1 On 7 May 1962, the Liberal member for Murray, former Premier Sir Ross McLarty, resigned. Liberal candidate Ewart Runciman won the resulting by-election on 23 June 1962.
2 At the 1962 state election in Darling Range, Liberal candidate Ken Dunn defeated the sitting Country member Ray Owen. The Labor candidate (Jack Metcalfe) narrowly won the primary vote, whilst Dunn polled one vote ahead of Owen, meaning Owen was eliminated and his votes distributed between Dunn and Metcalfe. A petition was filed and the Court of Disputed Returns ordered a fresh election for 22 July 1962, which widened the gap to 15 votes.
3 On 22 July 1962, the Liberal member for Bunbury, George Roberts, died. Liberal candidate Maurice Williams won the resulting by-election on 1 September 1962.

1918 United Kingdom general election

The 1918 United Kingdom general election was called immediately after the Armistice with Germany which ended the First World War, and was held on Saturday, 14 December 1918. The governing coalition, under Prime Minister David Lloyd George, sent letters of endorsement to candidates who supported the coalition government. These were nicknamed "Coalition Coupons", and led to the election being known as the "coupon election". The result was a massive landslide in favour of the coalition, comprising primarily the Conservatives and Coalition Liberals, with massive losses for Liberals who were not endorsed. Nearly all the Liberal MPs without coupons were defeated, although party leader H. H. Asquith managed to return to Parliament in a by-election.

William Francis Newton Dunn,, is a British politician. Between 2019 and the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the EU on 31 January 2020, he served as a Liberal Democrat Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the East Midlands.

2004 Hartlepool by-election

On 23 July 2004, the Member of Parliament for Hartlepool, in England, Peter Mandelson (Labour), was nominated as the United Kingdom's new European Commissioner for Trade. On 8 September, he accepted the office of Steward of the Manor of Northstead, thereby disqualifying himself from Parliament, and causing a by election. Polling took place on 30 September.

James Harper Prowse Jr. , was a politician, barrister and solicitor from Alberta, Canada. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1945 to 1959, first as an independent and then as a Liberal. He led the Alberta Liberal Party from 1948 to 1958 and served as a senator from 1966 until his death in 1976.

The Electoral district of Wakehurst is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. It covers a significant part of Sydney's Northern Beaches as well as parts of the Forest District. Created in 1962, it has been won by the Liberal Party at all but two elections over the last half-century.

Members of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly who served in the 48th parliament held their seats from 1984 to 1988. They were elected at the 1984 state election, and at by-elections. The Speaker was Laurie Kelly.</ref>

2021 Senedd election General election to be held in Wales

The next Senedd election is due to be held on Thursday 6 May 2021 to elect 60 members to Senedd Cymru – the Welsh Parliament. It will be the sixth general election since the Assembly was established in 1999. The election is due to be held alongside the 2021 United Kingdom local elections and Scottish Parliament election.

Raymond Cecil Owen was an Australian agricultural scientist and politician. He was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 1944 to 1947 and again from 1950 to 1962. Owen was initially elected as an independent, but joined the Country Party in 1949.
